Good times, good times. Buckeye Bash 2012. The third annual reunion. They traveled from afar to join us at Bellepeppers house in Dublin Ohio this year. Saveur, Bellepepper, me, Marcella, and Mother Ann all
from various places in Ohio, Mickdee and Maggi down from the Detroit Michigan area, CindyLepp from Kentucky, and Molly came in from Fort Wayne Indiana. Hubbies came with all except for Maggi and Cindy, and Suzy the black lab even joined in for a bit! Everyone
got their faces cleaned after dinner. She belongs to Mother Ann and came with them on their camping trip. We talked about our first meeting, wondering now what led us to be afraid of what we might find that day. Surprise! There were no axe murderers. Just
friendly, delightful people that share a commonality in food. It was like old home week, and of course traffic delayed hubby and I and we ended up being the last to get there. Mickdee and I brought appetizers for the wine hour and Savi created a new Sangria
recipe for us all. buckeye-luncheon-sangria-2012 . Mother Ann brought that coco wine
she talked about, oh that is some good stuff! Savi’s new Sangria was a hit, even for me a non wine drinker. Belle prepared pork tenderloins and Mr. Belle grilled them. Succulent with two sauces, put it right over the top! The gals brought lots of salads, everything
was tasty. I loved the marinated asparagus Mickdee brought and want the recipe for that! There was marinated tomatoes and onions, lawnmower salad, ramen salad, and strawberry mesclun salad. Someone made scotcharoos, and Mother Ann brought pineapple upside
down cake. Marcella made her chocolate cake, omg, I love chocolate cake! If I missed anything, I’m sorry, but it was all excellent ladies! I invited AR Elizabeth to join us, but she was in a wedding yesterday and couldn’t attend. She did send us some AR goodies
though. Thank you!! Thanks to Lady Sparkle, who sent heart shaped dishcloths, so pretty, and yes, some said they do actually use them. Thanks also to Molly and Maggi who brought us some nice gifts and to Mr. Belle who gave us all a basil plant from his garden.
We talked and laughed for hours, the day drew to a close too soon. We talked about another MiniMi in the fall if anyone is interested! As others have said before me, if you get a chance to go to a gathering, go! Or create one of your own. It doesn’t have to
be elaborate, meet somewhere for coffee and pie. You’ll be richer for the experience!
