Road trip! Off to the great white north we go! Well, maybe not that far north. Ok, north an hour to Brighton Michigan to the 2nd Annual Mini-Mi. On the way, hubby tells me Michigan State is playing Michigan in Ann Arbor. Which we will go right by. So glad we weren’t driving south right then!… MORE

About this Cook
I never cooked at home growing up, just seems to come naturally in our family. Good satisfying down home cooking. Love trying out new recipes, and the guys here love it too.
My favorite things to cook
Love easy fast recipes, like to bake if it doesnt involve pie crust or rolling out dough.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Southern from my family, Hungarian from my husbands side. Fried sweet potatoes, cornbread dressing, fried okra,Hungarian turkey, paliscintas,Pigs in a Blanket
My cooking triumphs
Most of what I cook, nothing special comes to mind
My cooking tragedies
Like a lot of others, that first Thanksgiving turkey. Still frozen and the paper sack of giblets still in there.

Luscious Lemon Triangles
Made for Recipe Group. Outstanding! I used 1 1/2 times the filling, cause I'm like Naples, like the extra lemon hit! It did get very brown on the top before the filling was done enough, but with powdered sugar on the top, it covers all that up. Thanks for the recipe, they were a hit at a surprise 30th birthday party!

Oktoberfest Potato Salad
Made for Recipe Group. Brings back memories for me from my time spent in Germany. I didn't have any celery and used celery seed instead. I liked it warm and cold. Hubby tried it and said it was pretty good(he ate it cold and hates warm German potato salad)which is saying a lot for him! Thanks Lutzflcat!

Blueberry Oat Dream Bars
Made for Recipe Group. You need to make these, go now and do it! And I agree with some of the other reviewers, needs more berries. I probably added 1/2 cup extra. I had two 6oz pkgs so just used them both. I washed, dried, dusted with flour and then stuck them in the freezer a bit. Used all AP flour and no zest since I didn't have any lemons. Almond extract in the cheese sounds yummy to me too. Definitely need to frig to set them up unless you just want to spoon them out. But, that burst of blueberry in my mouth with the slightly tangy creamy cheese. And crunchy from the oat mixture. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
