Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
Don't know how anyone could call this dissapointing...I've been making it for two years now and it is to die for...especially as leftovers...last time we made it we ate ours every night for a week and did not get tired of it (that's saying something for me). Changes that helped: -You pretty much always need more beer...add to taste and make sure its a strong beer. I usually end up using a full cup -Its never very spicy prepared as directed...but I never use chili beans in spicy sauce (can't find) but it tastes delish when you use about one chopped jalapeno (instead of 2 green chlis) and about 2 peppers in adobo sauce (in can) this gives it a smoky chipotle like flavor... -mix the types o beans...we often use both kideny and white beans....makes it prettier (and tastier I think) -I usually don't bother with bacon bits and it doesn't need them...its such a complex tasting chili as it is!! -Don't waste this by putting it on fritos...but do get an AMAZING VERY SHARP cheddar to put on top...compliments it amazingly... -Make sure you season to taste...I always add a little bit more salt, pepper or sugar etc to get the perfect balance...trust your taste buds but also know that after 1 day in the fridge the flavors will meld and be much much better than the day you made it... You can also make this with ground turkey and turkey sausage which tastes the same to me and is healthier! Serve this with Cornbread, beer and sharp sharp cheddar...it's TO DIE FOR...

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
Best cream cheese frosting I've tasted in my life. I am not a frosting person but this tastes almost exactly like cheese cake and tasted amazing on top of the carrot cake I made my husband for his bday. Thanks!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
It was pretty good...not quite sure what the HUGE deal was about. Did anyone else have trouble with the Parmesan melting on the top? I used fresh shredded, but maybe it had been on the shelf to long...didn't melt like i hoped. People did eat it up though...just not my thing...maybe I would have liked it more with more jalapenos...

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This recipe is to die for! Just a few things that made it great for me! 1. Use fresh salsa...not like a bottled kind on a shelf...get one in a refridgerated section 2. Use cumin and chili powder to taste...you might want some more. 3. I added a dash of Cayenne pepper 4. I used tortilla chips (LOTS!) and CHEDDAR cheese on top, which I think is the best cheese for this soup! 5. Shred the chicken, like everyone else says. AND ENJOY!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
I don't know what everyone is talking about. USE COTTAGE CHEESE! It does not get runny or any of that other stuff, it is delicious and much lighter than Ricotta which I never liked THAT much anyways. This recipe is delicious! I have made it with both ground beef and ground Turkey for a healthier option and both were great. The Turkey really doesn't taste that different in it (for all you beef lovers) and I would recommend it! I will make it again and again and again!

Sausage & White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This soup was great! Tasted creamy...but still healthy...and had such a rich flavor! I didn't plain Thyme, so I added "Herbs de Provence" which were delicious in it! I would recommend it. It has some Thyme in it, but you also get this delicious added hits of basil, marjoram, basil, bay leaf, and LAVENDER! I really enjoyed it. I used only 1 lb of sausage (and it was still a lot. I can't believe the recipe suggests 1 1/2) Anyways, I recommend this highly. And it was so easy!
