Slow Cook Thai Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
This is an easy recipe which is nice. I liked how I could cook a dish with Thai-flavors without a lot of exotic ingredients. I made the recipe with the suggested reviewers' modifications like 1/2 cup of peanut butter only and used the whole can of chicken broth. Overall, the dish was just bleh for me. It was a little too salty but extra lime and the garnish does help. My niece really liked the dish though and had seconds. I don't like it enough to make it again or add it to my regular dinner rotation though. Thanks for sharing!

Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
I was excited to try this recipe as I love chickpeas and all curry dishes. Unfortunately, I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out way too spicy! I would suggest only used 1/3 or less of a teaspoon of cayenne and then taste it before adding more. I wanted to throw the batch out after having one serving.

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
Good base recipe for chicken stir-fry, especially good for new cooks. It tasted a little bland the first time I cooked it (followed the recipe exactly). The second time I cooked it, I basically added all the same spices in the recipe plus the reviewers' suggestions (brown sugar) times six! It was much better the second time and much for flavorful.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: May 29, 2010
Great recipe! Easy to do and the beer batter is delicious. The mayo blend has a nice heat to it. It's a little bland/lacking flavor as is though but with salsa and avocado then fish tacos are fantastic. I would make them again still, very yummy.

Baked Tuna 'Crab' Cakes

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
Wonderful recipe! Cheap and it makes a ton of yummy food. The spicy pepper gives these tuna cakes a subtle kick. I didn't use sour cream and the dish still turned out great. I baked them a little longer because I like crispy things, nice and soft in the inside though. Enjoy with with hot sauce on the top! We're excited to eat the left-overs. :) Thanks for sharing.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
Great, simple, and easy recipe for sloppy joe's. They remind me of the ones I had in the elementary school cafeterias, sweet and meaty. :) I added more ketchup because I like my sloppy joes wetter. I would definitely make these again. Serve with bread or put a scoop of it on salad.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
This was the first casserole type dish I've ever made and I loved it! It's simple and easy to do even for a novice like me, although it does take some prep time. I followed the other reviewers' advice of adding an extra 1/2 cup of shredded cheese to the coup mixture. I've already made this dish twice! I add some black beans in the mixture sometimes for extra protein. Great recipe, thanks for sharing!

Absolute Best Liver and Onions

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Great recipe for those who like liver. My bf never had liver and he liked the dish too. I cut down the butter a lot though but it was still nice and fatty. Definitely something to make once and awhile. I soaked my liver for two hours. The liver was not super tender so you might want to soak it longer. I had to use a knife and fork to eat it, no left-overs! We decided to bake/broil the second half of the liver and onions to make them crispy and it was really good, better than just cooking them on the stove top. I still probably won't make this again because cutting liver is very messy work. Nice recipe and thanks for sharing!

Simple Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wraps

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
This was a super delicious and easy meal to make. It's quick to whip up as well. The spice is just right, leaves a head in the mouth. I followed everything as listed on the recipe but had to use pita bread instead as it was the only thing I had in the house. I would make extra sauce next time for even more flavor.
