Here's the scenario. I'm in meetings all day today with one of my bosses and a coworker (another graduate assistant). It's 11:30am and we realize we have an hour and a half to kill before our next meeting. The following is my inner dialogue sprinkled with some of the dialogue from my boss ('A')…
I'm an (unemployed) Elementary Art teacher and currently working on my Masters in Visual Arts education. I'm working part-time as a graduate assistant at a state university in NY while finishing up my research. I live a bit of a (modern) nomadic life and tend to move at least once a year. Who knows where I'll end up next!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, but don't do it so often since my egg allergy gets progressively worse. I love to cook meals from scratch as often as possible.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas, since 1996, two of my sisters and I make trays of Christmas cookies for friends and family. We set aside an entire weekend, dubbed "Cookie Weekend," for our endeavors. We shop on Friday, bake on Saturday and decorate on Sunday. There are some years when we have made over 15 different types of cookies and bars and over 1200 cookies! Our favorite part is admiring the trays when they are all completed. As you can imagine, after such an intense, sugar and butter filled weekend, we rarely ever eat the goodies.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I successfully manage to pare down recipes to serve 1 or 2.
