my favorite things to cook is anything for my crowd! Whether it's a crowd of one - Josh, or a crowd of many - the usual suspects that end up at our place for football games, house parties, cheese and wine tastings, "bring your meat" nights, each and every holiday imaginable, or any other excuse to get together and eat, drink and be very merry!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up in Italy, my traditions are the classics, but having been in America for the past 20, they are all with a twist. LOVE Creole cooking, am never brave enough to try Asian at home, and am just learning the Slow Cooker... one pot dishes always remind me of my American Mom saying "that's hobo food" and then whipping up Veal Picatta or taking us to the village trattoria instead.

Crispy Baked Basa
He LOVED it - even made the "could get in any restaurant" remark another reviewer made. Used Panko - cuz that's what I had - and mashed it up with the back of a spoon. Subbed Frank's Hot Sauce & the last of a bottle of Sriracha for the Pepper Sauce - again, just because that's what I had and needed to get rid of. And I didn't measure anything, just did it to taste. I was skeptical of the side sauce and it really went well with it, but I'd advise making it first and letting it sit in the fridge till ready to serve. And I also took the Wine suggestion and opened a bottle of Chard. This recipe turned what was supposed to be an easy, quick, weeknight meal into date night!

Marinated Grilled Shrimp
One of the reasons I love Allrecipes.com is for the reciepe IDEAS as well as recipes, so I normally eye ball or tweak. Did the Diced Tomatoes and hot Chili Paste, Sriravca - the one w the Roster on it... instead of tomato sauce. We LOVED it. Side rice was a good and easy idea. Can see why pasta will go well if you follow the recipe. I will try that next time but keep my tweaks in my rotation for sure!

Turkey Pot Pie I
whipped this up with recommended changes to a ROUSING success! Changes I included: almost everything i could find in the fridge after a crazy Thanksgiving weekend! - Mushrooms, frozen peas & corn, diced red pepper, fingerling potatoes... mixed in leftover gravy with the turkey & floor, also added some to the veggies, along with turkey stock (added chicken stock when i ran out). Baked the bottom pie crust for 10, and couldn't find my pie plate so made it in a 8 x 8 casserole dish. Also, drank a glass of Pinot Noir while cooking, and am sure that helped. Husband RAVED and I basked in wine and glory!
