I love making applesauce, I like using a soft apple that will cook down quickly. I wash the apples then quarter them and put them in a large pot with a small amount of water/applejuice. Boil until soft. Mash with a potato masher and strain through a sive. The sauce will have a nice pinky appearance. Add dash of cinnamon & nutmeg and that is it. I have also added pomengrates to the apples while cooking. Very flavourable. You do not have to add sugar - the apples have alot of natural sugar.
