I grew up in an Italian household. I still remember waking to the aromas of my mother's sauce every Sunday morning. So, I was around good food all the time. We would visit my mother's relatives. Each one had "a signature dish" - ohh, the mouth is watering right now thinking about them. My inspiration to cook didn't come until I was in college. I worked as a bus boy in one of those fancy-dancy restaurants on the North Shore of Long Island. They specialized in Northern Italian cuisine. I was in awe of the chefs. These guys had their act together. I was impressed with how they just knew what to do. After I graduated from college, I bought utensils and "experimented" on my friends. The rest is history. I cook to relax, I love to eat and I enjoy watching peoples reactions to my food.
Finally, Check out my blog....
My favorite things to cook
Any type of chicken or pork. Pasta's, cream sauces, seafood, particularly shellfish. I love BBQ - coal not gas & slow and low!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm Italian - what can I say - my grandmother's meatballs were to die for.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm - I think I will remain humble here. I have cooked too many a great meals that went over so well that I just can't list them all.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm - Let's say that I certainly have royally bombed to a point that whatever it was in front of us, it was promptly thrown in the trash after a bite.
