Sugar Snap Pea Parmigiano

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
Quick & easy to prepare with ingredients you always have on hand. Since it has no exotic ingredients, our picky eaters ate it with no complaints. Good for a busy weekday meal, went well with chicken parmesan and pasta.

Pasta with Salami and Peas

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2005
Overall, we liked this, although by the end of the meal the greasiness got a bit over-powering from the salami coupled with the sauce. The flavors were good, though, and the peas were a nice addition. It made for a pretty presentation. We will probably make this again and just cut back a little on the salami. I might even throw in some black olives and a diced fresh tomato.

Gram's Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2005
Good basic recipe. I did make a few changes: substituted cream of chicken soup for the mushroom, added a variety of vegetables - thawed corn, green beans and chopped carrots, as well as the peas, and added some spices - garlic powder, basil, oregano, sage and pepper. It's great for using up leftover frozen vegetables and leftover chicken. Thanks!

Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2005
Overall, we liked this recipe. The flavors were very good, but next time I will leave out the tomato paste. We think it will be more appealing with a golden broth color instead of the red of a vegetable soup. Also, I substituted spinach for the cabbage because all wedding soups I have had previously used spinach. Very good basic recipe, easy to tweak. Thanks.

Fantastic! I will never buy another pre-made crust. This is so flaky it melts in your mouth. Thank you from a happy pie baker!

Tomato and Bacon Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2005
Not bad, but needs a little more seasoning and perhaps a little less cheese.

Easy Baklava

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2005
I added a bit more cinnamon but followed the rest of the recipe exactly. This went over very well at a potluck. It looked great in those cupcake liners and was really pretty easy.

Party Punch III

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2005
Being tired of the same old heavy sherbert punches, I thought this looked like a good recipe to try. It did seem a little tart, so I added some lemonade to it. That kept it refreshing but gave it a hint of sweetness. Thanks for a good, basic recipe that is easy to tweak!

Pizza On The Grill I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
This was great! I was amazed at how quickly that dough cooked. We adjusted the toppings to suit family preferences, but the dough itself needed no adjustment. It came out beautifully chewy and flavorful. Grilling it on high heat does mean you really need to watch it carefully to prevent burning. Perhaps people who had problems with burning were expecting it to take longer or made the pies too thick. We loved it. Thanks!

Easy Cranberry Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2004
Have to say this bombed at my house. Not one person in my family of 6 ate more than a few bites. It had a strange unappetizing color and a very odd taste. Sorry, I couldn't think of anything to tweak to make it more appealing.

Herbed White Bean Spread on Garlic Toasted Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2004
I thought this was wonderful: tasty, out-of-the ordinary, and relatively simple. Did not have fresh sage so used dried. Not too popular with my kids, but who cares! The adults enjoyed it very much.

Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2004
I really enjoyed this, but the kids did not. I followed the recipe exactly, right down to the part about the lettuce leaves. We substituted tortillas for a different taste. The cherries and almonds combined for an interesting combination of textures, and the dressing is simply delicious. Thanks!

Kathie's Grits Casserole

Reviewed: May 24, 2004
This was ok but not as good as I expected. My guests politely ate it, but it was not a big hit. I'm not sure what is missing, but I think it could use a bit of tweaking somehow.

This was very tasty. Didn't need to change a thing. The spinach adds a very subtle flavor and some nice color. The corn provides a hint of sweetness and texture. Overall, a very enjoyable side dish.

Baked Egg Casserole

Reviewed: May 21, 2004
This was very good for Easter brunch.(Used up a lot of those hardboiled eggs!)I split the eggs in half and served it over toasted English muffins. It was almost like Eggs Benedict. Everyone at the gathering (except my most picky eater) had seconds. Served with a fruit salad, juice and coffee to offset the richness, and it was perfect!

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: May 21, 2004
Great change of pace from ordinary salad! I found pre-packaged spinach with almonds and dried cranberries, then added the strawberries and dressing. Made it so easy. I did substitute balsamic for white wine vinegar and would advise to cut back the sugar a bit. But overall, wonderful!
