Pineapple Sour Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2013
Simply an amazing pie. I have made this pie many times. Buy a graham cracker crust or bake a single crust. It only takes 15 minutes to make a great pie. I don't like meringue so I use whipped cream instead. If you like pineapple you will love this pie. Five stars for ease of making, best unique flavor, and a constant and consistent success.

Baked Spaghetti Squash Lasagna Style

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2012
Outstanding recipe! Even better left over. I sprinkled crumbled feta and sliced black olives on the left overs - a great addition to the layers of tatse. It was a little juicy the first night so I recommend draining the excess watery juice before serving. I did follow others advice adding a layer of washed fresh baby spinach. I also baked it in a 9x13 dish instead of the squash. I cut the squash in half - scooped out the seeds - and baked the squash cut side down on foil with Pam sprayed on. I baked the seeds with seasoned salt at the same time - made a good snack.

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2012
Yummo - Great recipe - thanks for sharing I did as you suggested and added a nice bright stalk of broccoli. The feta cheese and olives really make this dish pop really - don't judge this recipe without them! I am going to spring for some stronger tangy black olives next time. I might add some red pepper flakes too just to spice it up a bit. This is a definite keeper for my vegetarian meals. Great filling dish for a diet night too! As others have said my squash was on the large side and it did take 40 minutes to get soft.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs Party Appetizer

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
A five star spicy hot and sweet and sour sausage ball recipe. Make sure your balls are small and bite sized with a pineapple chunk for the perfect bite. I love this sweet and sour sauce - too easy to be so good.

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
Outstanding recipe fast and easy . I made the exact recipe and it is great! Freezes nicely. I cut the recipe down to make just single servings using my bullet. I have also used the food processor it works great. Haven't tried the blender. So far I have chopped and frozen mangos, peaches, raspberries, blackberries, huckleberries, and made this recipe and they were all delish! As Rachel would say - Yum-O. When I make the recipe using peaches I add a little pure vanilla extract now. I even tried plain vanilla and it was pretty good.

Hot Chicken Wing Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
I made the recipe exactly as written and it was great. I used Franks wing sauce. The next time I cut down on the wing sauce to 8 oz. because it was a little vinegary tasting. I also eliminated the shredded cheese and sprinkled it with Blue Cheese crumbles after it cooked instead. I also used blue cheese dressing instead of ranch. With these changes it tasted just like my favorite buffalo wings. I will be adding twice as much chicken next time and cube cutting it instead of shredding. Great recipe as is - try it - if you like buffalo wings you will love this recipe. Either blue cheese or ranch is good it just depends on what you like... Definitely try it on celery sticks!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
As advertised this pie is outstanding just as it is. I did not deviate from the recipe. I think I will add some walnuts and raisins to the apples next time I make it - and that will be very soon! Definitely put a dip of some good vanilla ice cream to a heated slice to be in heaven!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Excellent dip! I added a few more chopped Jalapenos as others have suggested because I like the heat. I split the recipe in half and took half to a party the same night and it was great. The second half I took to another party the following day - it seemed much hotter I guess the jalapenos married with the cream cheese. I really don't think you have to bake this recipe - it is great cold too!

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
Excellent easy and fun! I used Rollos and the very small square pretzels. I also put them on a piece of parchment paper before cooking them. If you don't want to have to unwrap every Rollo buy the Rollo candy bars. I took the advice of someone else and toasted the pecans first for 6 minutes on 325 then I stacked the pretzel, rollo and pecan and baked them at 325 for 4 minutes. When you take them out of the oven all you have to do is use 2 forks one to hold the piece and one to smash in the pecan. I also melted white chocolate in the microwave for 45 seconds and drizzled it on top and they look great! Take them out as soon as any Rollo looks like it is melted. They need to cool completely before you try to move them for the chocolate to set. I tried the Hershey bar with carmel inside but the carmel is too soft and ran out all over the pan before I even put them in the oven. You really need the miniature pretzels - the Rold Gold tiny ones are too big. I may try some with Milk Duds next...

I wish I had all the ingredients to make this recipe as given even so - this recipe came out as a 5 star without the ham, pepper or paprika! I loved it! Thanks for the recipe it is a keeper and I promise to have all the ingredients next time I make it.

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
Excellent - just like Granny used to make. A great chocolate flavor and very creamy texture. They were fighting over the last piece! Creaming the eggs and sugar was a great solution - instead of the old way of cooking the cream then adding to yolks slowly then adding yolks back into pan to cook! Good option that won't cook the eggs too fast. I used the Philsbury ready rolled crust and nobody knew the difference! I whipped the cream but Cool Whip would probably work as well.

Curried Carrot Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
Excellent low calorie soup. I add a tablespoon of low fat Sour Cream to each bowl adding 16 calories but it really improves the taste and texture of the soup. I also used this recipe reducing the liquid while cooking to be the curry gravy for curried baked chicken - it was great and very low calorie while increasing the fiber and vegetable content without using cream!
