American Girl's Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2002
WOW. You'd never guess that so few ingredients would come together so well. AND it's light?! I would certianly recommend this recipe. I might even try other canned fruit! Thanks!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: May 2, 2002
Gee, this scone was too average. The dough was really sticky and a pain which is fine if the final product is awesome. One taster thought they tasted like corn bread! They weren't bad, just not very good. Oh well.=)

Peanut Butter Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2002
This recipe had good flavor and helped me perfect my own peanut butter cookie recipe. HOWEVER. No matter what I did the ingredients in the amounts given resulted in flat spread out cookies that were not soft the next day. The coconut is awesome. Hint: use more peanut butter and flour. I also recommend adding a little vanilla.=)

Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2001
Good recipe. One taster said it tasted like a biscuit. The buttermilk dumplings I made at the same time were "voted" better. I've read that melting the butter and adding it with the milk has the same or better result. Just a thought for anyone who wants to try this recipe. Worth making.

Turkey in a Smoker

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
Some guests totally enjoyed this, but definately preferred the fried turkey we make. The fried turkey was favored for both flavor and moistness. It's always fun to try new things in our smoker though.

Mock Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2001
Ewwwwwwww. I admitt I am not a vegetarian, but there are many meat-alternative foods that I totally dig. This was disgusting to me, two toddlers (who love broccoli), a nine year-old boy who eats ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! , and everybody else. People, if you think this taste like tuna, you have gone w/o the real thing for way too long!!! Gross is my oppinion. Sorry

Butter Icing for Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2001
Very average.=( Sure sounds yummy though. Maybe more butter and less cream? Not a repeat.

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2001
Oh Darn...so disappointing. Too much flour, dough would not stay together and it might have been worth the trouble, but it was such an average tasting cookie and even at 1/4 inch thick they weren't as soft as we like them. (Talk about your run-on sentence).=) I sent some home with my sis and said "don't tell anyone that I'm the one who made them!"

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2001
I had to give it a five-star rating for quickness and easiness (because it warranted that), but overall it was a one-star, umimpressive disappointment! Everyone I cook/bake for has high expectations and I was embarassed by this mass-distributed (in one form or another) recipe. I guess it's not the fault of the person that posted it, but the people that rated it, come on! Are you so easy to please? Sorry to be controversial. To be fair, it did look nice. Sorry. Final verdict: not worth the extra tummy crunches.=)

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2001
Yum. Yum. At last, my search for "The Blueberry Muffin" is over. Half the amount of streusel was enough for us though. I used frozen blueberries. Now I can concentrate my search for "the perfect recipe" for other things. Crumbly, tender, and just the right amount of sweetness and berries. Five stars.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2001
This cookie was not what I had in mind.=( California girl was looking for a real chewy, super peanut-buttery cookie. This cookie was soft and fairly yummy, but only a "good" cookie to me. Not the best. I'm not sure the extra tummy crunches were worth it. I'm happy some "viewers" loved it though.
