Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
I doubled the recipe for a family dinner and I think I added too many potatoes because the sauce kinda disappeared. But it was still very good. I was really well done aver 2 hours so I may reduce the cooking time for my oven may be too hot. Next time I will try with less taters. I did dot some cheese on top near the end and broil, just for appearance, it didn't need it for taste. Yummy as is.

Baked Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
I make this all the time. The reason people are having trouble with it is you must bring the liquid to a boil before adding all the ingriedience to the cassarole dish. heat the soup and broth on the stove or microwave first.

Grilled Pineapple

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
I hink the person who put this with icecream and suggest sherbert was a little confussed, this is not a dessert. We have had this many times at a locale Brazilian grill diner. Had with grilled pork and chicken. It was great, didn't mess with the ingredience.

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I had unexpected company for Easter so the night before they arrived I ran out and found a fresh grain fed 13 lb turkey and wanted to do something special. I follow the recipe exactly but I only had 15 hour before I had to put it in my convection oven. It was terrific. The best turkey any of us have ever had and I previously avoided making turkey because I found it too dry. This was moist and so, so tasty. There ended up only being 4 of us for dinner but we don't mind we are looking forward to eating the leftovers. PS I had to cover it with some foil half way through roasting because the brown sugar browned the skin really fast.

Steak Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This recipe is just as taste just as it should. If you go adding stuff you don't have a Steak Pie, u have a meat and veg pie. I make this to get rid of left over roast or steak and if I don't have gravy mix I just make my own or left over gravy. Bravo for keeping it simple.

Bottom Round Roast with Onion Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2009
This is a very good recipe as it is. It was intended for busy moms. Making a whole bunch of changes just makes it take longer to make, not to mention a totally differant recipe. Why do people insist on doing that. Post your own recipies people. I want to know what it was like as written, not your version of pot roast.

What's not to love about this classic recipe. Only thing I would change is more chili, gotta have it hot.

Zesty Sausage Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
I have been making a version of this for year. I had thought I invented it. LOL We use hot Italian sausage. I don't think we can get the stuff you listed here is Canada. I don't add coleslaw, i just add lot of sliced red, orange and yellow peppers and sliced onions and I use hot sweet chili sauce instead of plum sauce and chili peppers cuz my lot like it hot. I recommend this to all. Its a very easy recipe to adjust to taste.

Taiwanese-Style Three Cup Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This was a big hit at our house. I didn't have the basil but it didn't seem to matter. I did add chili garlic sauce because my gang want their hot stuff really hot.

Slow-Cooked Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
May be I did something wrong. The only thing I changed was adding extra seasoning. The meatloaf was really soggy. My son said it tasted ok but needed some time in the oven because he thought it was "watery". The potatoes were weird and grey and didn't tast very good. I'm glad others had better luck with this but I thing I will stick to my oven roasted meatloaf and roast potatoes.

Broccoli Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I needed an alfedo sauce recipe and didn't really have the right ingredients.i didn't add any chicken or broccli. I used this as a base and add 1/4 cup each cream cheese and sour cream, and a little garlic powder and parsley. I tossed it with spaghetti and served it as a side dish at dinner party. hubby said it was good.
