Beer Brats

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2014
Holy smokes! These were excellent! I used to marinate in beer then grill, but never again. I did slow cook the brats in beer/spices for about 10 minutes then simmered on low for about 20 minutes then grilled. I see no need for the salt so I omitted that-too much sodium as it is in most foods.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2014
EXCELLENT! I am always skeptical of recipes that have so few ingredients. But this sauce was phenomenal in taste! It is so easy to prepare that I will NEVER use store bought again! I followed the recipe exactly except adding 1 tsp. of brown sugar. I always believed that the sugar takes some of the tartness out of the tomatoes. Thanks for sharing!

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
Holy batman! Excellent! I am a baker and bake mostly from scratch EXCEPT for frosting! The reason being is because I HATE the amount of powdered sugar required for most recipes! This is perfect! Personal preference I do use an entire stick of butter-why not? And I did use 2 % milk-wondering why evaporated milk instead? Didn't have any on hand. Thanks for sharing!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2013
EXCELLENT! But as a rule of thumb, I ALWAYS add 1/2 C of seasoned bread crumbs to any meatloaf recipe. I think it holds the meat together better! Thanks for sharing such a wonderful and easy recipe!

Curry Stand Chicken Tikka Masala Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2013
EXCELLENT!!!! Made exactly as stated except for the "ghee". I used 2 tbsp. of unsalted butter, and over medium heat I let it get brown and sizzling,-kind of like when you are making "brown butter"- then I added the onions and proceeded with the recipe. I did only use 1/2 tsp. of cayenne pepper, but next time would use 3/4 tsp. and gradually make it to the 1 tsp. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe!

World's Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
Not bad, but a lot of work! In my opinion, way too much sugar, and I love sugar! I even went as far to reduce sugar to 1/4 C and it was still a little too sweet! I also don't like the additional fat, cholesterol content of the butter, milk, and beaten eggs! You already have the addition of 6 hard boiled eggs! I understand that this is necessary for the "secret" sauce, but as the saying goes, "less is more". I will probably stick to the classic Hellman's potato salad recipe.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
Excellent! Reminds me of the pumpkin "muffies" from Panera Bread! I don't frost-I dust them with powdered sugar! My 3 and 10 year olds love these! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2013
EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!! And so easy to prepare! I love salt but an FYI-I can see why some reviewers say this recipe is too salty! I made exactly as stated but to reduce the salt intake, I used UNsalted butter and garlic POWDER instead of garlic salt. The cheese alone has a ton of salt, so I don't think there is a need for "salt to taste". Thanks for sharing such a wonderful, easy recipe! This is now my "go to" alfredo sauce!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
EXCELLENT! But this is more of a soup than chili! Prepared exactly as stated, but used fresh jalapenos-fresh is best! I like a thicker "soup", so before adding chicken, I used an immersion blender in the pot, pureed one can of beans, and then added the 2 additional cans "as is". This IS a spicy "soup", so if you can't take the heat, reduce cayenne pepper by 1/2. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe!

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
Some reviewers said that the meatballs seemed to be flavorless. Instead of the minced onion, I substituted 1 package of "Lipton Onion Soup Mix". Other than that, made exactly as stated and it was very good!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2012
EXCELLENT! Made "as is", but substituted the kidney beans for black beans! Never really have had kidney beans in mexican dishes. Not quite sure if all of the water is needed-used 1/2 of what was called for. Served with salsa and sour cream on the side. Delicious! Loved the combination of sweet and spice! Even my 12 year old loves these and a great way to get sweet potatoes in him! Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe! Does make quite alot, but love that I can freeze and reheat!

Mizithra Browned Butter Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2012
In my opinion, the key to this recipe is the brown butter! Brown unsalted butter over medium heat in a light colored pan for several minutes, stirring quite frequently, until it foams and turns a beautiful golden brown color. You can tell it's done by the wonderful nutty aroma it gives off as well as the brown bits in the bottom of the pan. No need to strain! I personally use angel hair pasta because I like a thinner pasta.

Thai Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2012
Excellent as is! But on a personal preference, I do step 1 as directed, then I marinate all ingredients, except peanuts, for several hours. Discard the dressing and then add the chopped peanuts. I think doing it this way, it's not as sweet tasting.

World's Best Lasagna

PLEASE UPDATE THE RIGHT SALT AMOUNT! One tablespoon is entirely TOO MUCH SALT, and I love salt! This recipe is EXCELLENT! Made exactly as stated but would replace 1/2 C of water with red wine :@)

Easy Vodka Sauce

If made "as is", very bland!!! I believe this would be a great "base" sauce, but needs additional seasonings!

EXCELLENT!!! I get so many requests from my friends for this dip! I prefer fresh jalapeno to canned though! I do use half sour cream/half mayonnaise, just personal preference. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe!

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
Perfection and oh so easy to make!! Just a tip to make icing the top layer of graham crackers a little easier; assemble as directed but refrigerate before icing. That way the "cake" sets and it is much easier to ice.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Perfect as is, but in my opinion, you MUST use low sodium soy sauce or it will be entirely TOO salty!!

Chocolate Crackled Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
EXCELLENT!! Followed the recipe to at "T" except I did substitute 1 stick of butter for the shortening (not a big fan of shortening) Turned out perfect! I think the key to these cookies is you must chill dough as directed; I think that is why people may be having a hard time! Really does taste like a brownie cookie!
