Pretty good mondel bread. It was the first time I made it so I had my friend that is Jewish try it and let me know if it was good, and she said it tastes like the one her grandmother made, so it past the test...

Christmas Fruitcake

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
This is so yummy I can't believe it. My family doesn't like fruit cake and when they heard that I was making some for Christmas they weren't too pleased. Not listening to them I decided to try this fruitcake, the only change I did was I used brandy instead of rum, and it was amazing. Everyone loved it and couldn't believe that fruitcake could be so yummy. This is going to be my one and only fruitcake recipe.... yum yum....

Super yummy. I used cold butter and blended everything with a pastry cutter and then added the sour cream mixture. I also used dried cherries and added 2 tsp of vanilla.

Rolled Fondant

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
This is a good recipe. The fondant came out a little soft but that was my fault. I didn't use all the icing sugar that was mentioned in the recipe, but next time I will follow it fully.

Nice fondant. It rolls out really well. I needed to kneed a little bit of shortening into the dough b.c it was a little bit dry.

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
Yummy!!! I love this pound cake. I have made it many times and the family loves it. My brother keeps asking em to make it so he can freeze slices of the cake and eat it frozen as his dessert. I did increase the vanilla to 2 tsp and also used 1 lemon (juice and zest) instead of the extract. I think that this would also be just as good using an orange and orange zest. Might try it next time.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
This is the best cheesecake ever!!! I followed Morena's suggestions regarding not over mixing the batter and it turned out PERFECT! I don't even like cheesecake (since I'm lactose Intolerant) but I actually tried a piece of it and it was worth stomach pain that came later on......

Pumpkin Muffins II

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
Great muffin for fall. The only things that I changed were: 1/3 cup oil and 1/3 unsweetened apple sauce, 2 cups stone ground whole wheat flour and 1 cup all purpose flour, 1 cup dark brown sugar and 1/4 cup white sugar.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
Super yummy.. Just made this for dinner and the hubby loved it. I didn't dip the chicken in the flour since I always find this method produces a gross texture to chicken. I am going to recoomend this to my family.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
Totally yummy cookie. I just finished making the cookies based on the suggestions I read in the review. I added the 2 tsp of baking powder, the 1/2 tsp of salt and I increased the vanilla to 2 tsp. They came out really good. I took 1/2 of the batter and mixed peanut butter chips and chocolate chips. With the other 1/2 I just used chocolate chips. Both of the versions are really good. I also tested different ways to make the cookies. I first tried with 1 heaping 1tbsp for each cookie, rolling them into little balls and flattened them lightly, and the cookies came out good but had a few cracks on the top. Then I tried a batch with just 1 heaping tbsp, no rolling, just leaving the batter messy and they came out nicer.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
Love this chocolate cake. It is so yummy. Then only change I made was instead of boiling water, I used hot coffee. I find it brings out the chocolate flavour. Also, I would recommend that you grease and flour the pan, it makes a HUGE difference.
