One Year Together

I'm actually about three weeks late with this ode to my precious, as it was just before New Year's last year when we were brought together. Oh I can just remember how my heart soared with joy when the FedEx man rang the doorbell.
Yes I have had my KitchenAid mixer for just over a year now, and I must say, Rizzo and I have gotten along wonderfully. We have made many delicious concoctions and she never complained no matter how hard I asked her to work. Why even as I sit here comfily on
the couch typing away, she is in the kitchen making ice cream for me! She's even been working more hours since we moved out on our own as I now have no hand mixer to take her shifts sometimes. I think she's happy with the tradeoff that she now gets to sit
out on the counter permanently instead of stuffed away in her box, which was her living conditions in my mother's kitchen. Much improved, I think.
Happily working away in her spot on the counter!
Mixing me up some delicious ice cream!
She and I have had some good times over the year. We've made cookies, frostings - it was only with Rizzo's help that I finally won the ongoing war between me and buttercream, many batches of whipped cream, pizza crust, breads, meringue, other batches of ice
cream, and I think what might be our favourite thing to make together -
In fact I think my brother loves Rizzo as much as I do, since he gets to eat most of these treats she whips up, so that I don't eat more than I should! He was so excited when I got Rizzo's ice cream maker attachment, he bought me a book of ice cream recipes.
The one she just mixed up (she's so efficient she finished the ice cream before I finished the blog!) is from the book he got me,
The Perfect Scoop, by David Lebovitz.
In short I am soooo glad I bought her and even though it I hemmed and hawwed quite a lot before pressing the "Proceed to checkout" button, since she's been in my life I haven't given a second thought to even one of the many many pennies I spent on
her! And I know I have many years of giving her good workouts ahead of me :)
Do you have a great kitchen love of your own? How long have you been together?
