About this Cook
I'm a small town Southern girl living in Wasilla, AK. (Yes, the home of Sarah Palin- no questions, please!) I love to sing, read, write, play with my daughter, spend time with my husband, and hang out with friends.
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new things...that's why I'm a member on here! Looking to expand my cooking skills, I try to find recipes that will challenge me and taste really good!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every major holiday was a reason to get everybody in my family together! My mama's potato salad (God rest her) was the best! My grandma's cornbread (God rest her, too) was sooo good!
My cooking triumphs
I finally made my first batch of rolled cookies! It wasn't easy...I had a couple of attempt and fails, but I stuck with it and finally made some!
My cooking tragedies
Despite the fact that I'm Southern, I've never been able to make good fried chicken...pretty sad, I know, but it's the truth.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies
My family couldn't decide between sugar, snickerdoodle, oatmeal, and peanut butter cookies one night. This recipe was perfect! I added about a teaspoon of cinnamon to the batch and the cookies came out so yummy! It solved all 4 cookie cravings in one cookie!

Easy Baking Powder Drop Biscuits
I followed the recipe exactly and it still came out the consistency of thick pancake batter. I added another 1/8 cup of flour, and it came out thicker.

Easy to Remember Pie Crust
I definitely don't agree with the part of the description that says it's not for novices! This was the easiest pie crust ever! I've never made a pie in my life from scratch, but I decided to try my hand at it for Christmas. I used this recipe for my apple pie, and it turned out beautifully!
