These were SUPER good. I used a rotisserie chicken, which was really great and easy.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

This is so good. It is creamy and perfect. Exactly what a potato soup should be. I sometimes add Thyme, when I feel like it.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
This was very good. My husband liked it and so did my kids. It was healthy and that was what I was looking for. I think I'd prefer more Quinoa in the recipe, since I felt the black beans & corn overpowered it. Otherwise it was good; nothing exceptional but I'll probably make it again.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
These are AMAZING! They probably bring me 1 step closer to a heart attack each time I eat them, but they are wonderful. I've made them quite a few times and I use Ginger Ale. They are great served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
I'm giving these three stars because I've made them about 5 times and they always disappoint me. They don't have a whole lot of flavor (just taste like sugar) and they aren't very fluffy. My husband loves the chewy texture but I think they should be fluffier. They just never seem as good as I hope. Kind-of a let down and I wish I could find a better recipe for Blondies.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
This was really good! I especially loved all the fresh, chunky vegetables. Great flavor. Also, a really forgiving recipe because you can basically use whatever veggies you've got on hand. This is a great recipe for easy-going rainy days. :)

Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
These were surprisingly very yummy. I was worried they'd be really dry but they weren't! I used olive oil and regular whole wheat flour instead. Otherwise followed directions perfectly. My husband and kids all really like these. These taste GREAT with vanilla yogurt and bananas. Give them a shot!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This bread is wonderful. My husband LOVES it. He took some to work and the guys are asking for more now. I used brown sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle the pans with instead of flour so the bread doesn't stick. That adds a nice touch. You'll love this bread!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

These were fabulous. My husband loved them. They were tasty and soft. I made them a lot smaller than I was probably suppose to, so we had lots!! They were bite size. I really like them. Hope you do too!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
This recipe was really yummy. I'd love to make it again. I gave it 4 stars because there weren't nearly enough spices in it. So basically just a cream sauce. I would recommend really tasting the sauce before serving it. You'll probably want a lot more seasoning and spice.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
These go overkill on the peanut butter, in my opinion. Rich peanut butter cookie with rich peanut butter filling and another rich peanut butter cookie made it ... too much peanut butter. I think a light cream filling would have made these a lot nicer. It definitely would add uniqueness and variety to the flavor. However, the cookies by themselves were excellent. Great flavor and texture. Just didn't like the filling.

Banana Chocolate Chip Dessert

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
Mmmm, yummy! If you like chocolate, bananas, and dessert ... make these! I made them with fresh bananas and it came out just fine. Also, I let chocolate chips melt on top while it cooled and then spread them around ... I don't recommend this. It was pretty messy. But still delicious! I DO recommend topping it with whipped cream. That's great. Anyways, I loved these cake-like bars.

Zippy Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
I just made this soup and I love it. It is really flavorful and creamy. My only regret is that I only had 1 can of corn and it would have been better to have more. Also, I subbed onion for the leak and an orange pepper for red. Tasted great!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
My mom and I made this and we loved it. We added a can of black beans and some chopped, stewed tomatoes. We also used a cilantro salsa that gave the soup a good flavor. I was a little concerned about the lemon because I think lime works better with these flavors, but was pleasantly surprised. It was really tasty! I ate mine with chips and cheese mixed in. Great soup!

Bread Pudding III

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
I thought this was pretty good. I've only made Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding before so I've never had the original version. I thought this was really yummy. Definitely more of a breakfast food. I liked it served with milk. I didn't use raisins because my husband doesn't like them. Although, I think adding apples or something would have given it a little more interest. I was worried that it would be to eggy (I don't care for eggy custards) but it wasn't.

Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
This was the first bread pudding I've ever eaten or made. I thought it was delicious! I didn't care for it with milk but loved it warmed up with vanilla ice cream. I used french bread and chopped it into large cubes. This recipe was really easy to prepare, also. Yummy!
