About this Cook
I'm a wife, mother and grandmother and a southern girl forever. Cooking and eating are what we do! I grew up in Texas and Louisiana, so of course barbecue and cajun are my faves...but I pretty much like it all!
My favorite things to cook
grilled *anything*, jambalaya, gumbo, breakfast, comfort food
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking & decorating Christmas cookies with my kids/grandchildren is the best :) And I love that we each make a special dish to take to my parents' house every Thanksgiving. Coloring Easter eggs is great, too!
My cooking triumphs
Cooking an entire Thanksgiving &/or Christmas feast was a bit intimidating at first, but I do it every year for my husband's side of the family and receive many compliments. So I'd call that a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list! I've been known to set off a few smoke alarms here and there, but no fire (yet!?!)

Southern Fried Cabbage
Oh my goodness I cannot stop eating this cabbage! I didn't use the oil, otherwise I followed the recipe and it's just too good!! Will be my go-to from now, on. Thank you for the awesome recipe. :)

Awesome Pasta Salad
This is the best pasta salad I've ever had. Made as written, or adjusted to your own preferences, you just can't go wrong with this recipe. I've done it several different ways, adding avocado, sliced black olives, cucumber, red onion, various cheeses (feta is really good), anything and everything works in this pasta salad. So, so good. I think I'll have another bowl! ;)

Slider-Style Mini Burgers
We really enjoyed these! I followed the recipe exactly except for using 1/2 of the amount of mayo - just a personal preference. Will definitely make them again especially for football watching!
