Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
I found this to be pretty tasty (and not alarmingly spicy like others had). I used the thick Frank's Hot Sauce and sprinkled some dry ranch dressing mix into it. I'd say probably a little more than a tablespoon. I used 4 partially frozen breasts on low for about 6 hours and shredded about an hour before eating. It wasn't dry, but moist and delicious. Added ranch dressing to a toasted hoagie and some crumbled blue cheese. Will likely make again!

Mushroom Lentil Barley Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
This was fairly decent. The only changes I made was to chop up an onion and saute it with some garlic in place of the onion flakes. I also followed the suggestions and lowered the pepper. It wasn't very flavorful but it was filling.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
Made this mostly as stated. I did replace water with low sodium beef broth and used red potatoes. I did feel that this way much more prep work than what my normal idea of a crockpot recipe is... but it was fairly worth it. Will be making again.

Hearty Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
This was pretty good. I ended up using just stew meat, which turned out fine. I followed the ingredient list to a tee, but I wish I added some onions and potatoes and make it a really hearty stew. Will definitely use this recipe again, it was boyfriend approved.

Barley Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I ended up using mushroom broth which added to the whole dish a lot, I think. It took a long while to soak up the liquid and I didn't get it all entirely. I will probably add a little less next time. yum!

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
YUMMY! I followed this very closely, omitting the celery (personal pref) and I realized I had barely 1/2 tsp of curry and no paprika, so I had to omit that. But, its pretty tasty despite that. Can't wait to add the paprika and curry when I make this again!

These were pretty good. Made them for my boyfriend who loves Raspberry and preserves. He devoured them. I would add more crumb topping next time!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Every time I make this I get rave reviews. Its the only zucchini bread recipe I use. I also choose to up the zucchini to 3 cups and split the sugar between white and brown. Other than that I love this recipe!

Miracle Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
This was good. It didn't remind me of hot and sour soup too much but it was still a good simple "asian" veggie soup with some protein thrown in. I added diced chicken and a handful of shrimp and left out the spinach (personal preference). Will probably make again and again just so I can get my veggies in and hopefully lose some weight! :)

Raspberry Oat Bars

Followed the recipe almost exactly but used a 14 ounce jar of raspberry preserves and sprinkled a bit of cinnamon on the crumby topping. It was tasty. Will likely make again!

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
pretty tasty! I put the browned meat and onions into the crock pot with the rest of the ingredients and let it cook on high for 2 hours. Served over the Sweet Cornbread recipe on this site. Just wished for some more spice to it. Next time I'll add more spice.

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
Came out tasty. I doubled it, and it made a huge cake that bubbled out of the pan, but it worked out. Can't make a crumb topping to save my life. But, it came out good.

Pretty tasty. My sister (the taste tester) said it was more like cake not pound cake. but, what does she know. It was delish. Will make again, love the almond flavor!

Never Enough Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Made this for my first thanksgiving dinner. It was a hit. The only problem I had was that I had no clue how to measure out the velvetta. I just guessed and it came out delicious, and I've never even liked Green Bean casserole. Didnt add bacon because I didnt have any, but I would make it exactly the same. This is my go to casserole recipe now!

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Made this brine with 1/2 veggie broth and 1/2 apple juice, and the rest followed exactly! This was AMAZING! I used it on my 19 pounder and put it in a 5 gallon bucket and stuck it in the fridge for 24 hours. I'm positive this made my turkey amazingly juicy. Tried to pass some turkey to my boyfriend and it was so juicy that it stuck to the plate. Made my first turkey amazing!

Mexican Zucchini Cheese Soup

Pretty tasty. I followed the recipes exactly, except for the dried oregano (didnt have any on hand). I got the chilis in hot temperature. I made 12 servings which made a TON! Hopefully they make good leftovers. Wish it had a bit more spice but it's tasty as is.

Hamburger Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
Not bad. I made it with tons of onions, mushrooms and carrots. However, I wish it was more spicier. I added red pepper flakes and a ton of hot sauce, but it wasnt spicy enough for me, but I just love spice. I also added pasta noodles because it felt a little thin to me, now its a thick stew kind of dish. I dig it, made a ton, I'll have leftovers for a while! :)

Campbell's Kitchen Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
Pretty tasty. Definitely tastes like some kind of chicken helper boxed dish but its probably better. I added fresh mushrooms, onion, and carrots and 1 and 1/2 cans CofC. I followed another persons review and added fried onion topping. Definitely worth it! It was hard to fill a 9X13 baking dish, maybe next time I'll add more noodles and the rest.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
I didn't really like these too much, only because I cannot figure out why my pumpkin creations never come out how I want them to. The boyfriend and roommate loved them, and now the boyfriend keeps asking for them. So they are a hit with him, which means they work for me. ( I did use white cake mix because it was all i had on hand, and it worked perfectly fine)
