I shouldn't complain

But, it is cold. I know folks in other parts of the country are still without power. My heart goes out to them. I know how blessed I am that I can actually sit here and type a note and will uncover a garden full of beautiful cabbage and lettuce and collards in a few minutes.

I am looking for some cabbage and herb ideas. I also want to eat it light. I am not up for heavy sauces lately or a lot of meat combinations. I don't have anything against meat, I just want to lighten up for a few days. Any ideas out there?

The kids and I at school are going to make one of the fruit pizzas out of the recipe box. I am enjoying all the ideas folks have. I'll take some photos of our progress.

Lucky you! Your cabbages look beautiful. I'm eager for the growing season to start up here in the Pacific Northwest. My goal is to grow more edibles this year. Have fun with your garden!

About Me
My husband and friend own a small Community Supported Agriculture business in North Florida near Tallahassee. I work as a director for a before and after school program at a charter school in Tallahassee as well. We are involved in old time music and dance communities.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook seasonally and fresh. We eat meat that is locally grown and fruits as they come in, but mostly our garden and freezer provide the majority of our food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being together in the kitchen. It doesn't matter what we are cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I won a prize at the state fair for my perserves.
My cooking tragedies
Once I made a lazagna that even the dogs wouldn't eat.
