We're freezing down here in Florida. Just ordered some more frostproof cloth for the gardens. We picked Andy's garden on Wed. when the wind whistled around our ears. I'll jump into ours in a few minutes. Current temp 37 degrees.

The cabbage roots were really hard to break off they are so cold. More peas and spinach went in the ground over the weekend. We had two artists-in-residence at the FSU dance dept. help us put in flats of lettuce and onions. They belong to a CSA in Minnesota. This weekend 6 more flats of produce will go in along with potatoes and more onions and peas hopefully.  Delivery fourteen gets taken in today for pickup as soon as I weigh and sort it all. Life is busy at ASIF Gardens todays.

ASIF means buying, selling, and growing locally AS IF to change the world. It's our mission statement of what we do around here as well as taking care of our community.

About Me
My husband and friend own a small Community Supported Agriculture business in North Florida near Tallahassee. I work as a director for a before and after school program at a charter school in Tallahassee as well. We are involved in old time music and dance communities.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook seasonally and fresh. We eat meat that is locally grown and fruits as they come in, but mostly our garden and freezer provide the majority of our food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being together in the kitchen. It doesn't matter what we are cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I won a prize at the state fair for my perserves.
My cooking tragedies
Once I made a lazagna that even the dogs wouldn't eat.
