About this Cook
I'm 21 and just starting to enjoy cooking, especially from scratch. However, lack of tools, and lack of food ingredients makes it hard to learn new recipes and make changes. I don't knit, but I do crochet.
My favorite things to cook
Breakfast foods. Sweet treats. Eggs that are either fried or scrambled with a heavy dose of ground pepper, no salt.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't really have any traditions. Growing up, the food I ate either came from out of a can or baggy, the school cafeteria, or from a fast food restaurant. I'm trying to break that cycle by learning as many recipes as I can that don't involve boxed/overly processed ingredients.
My cooking triumphs
When I finally managed to flip a pancake at just the right moment and let it cook all the way through. That was a challenge. Also, when I was little I took part in a Pillsbury Baking Contest. I didn't win, but at least my recipe made it into getting judged at all. Too bad one of the main parts of the recipe came out of a box.
My cooking tragedies
When I accidentally bought Blackberries instead of Blueberries and forgot to put in the baking powder in the Muffin Recipe I like. It was only my second time making them. They were yucky. Blackberries may be good by themselves or in other recipes, but I don't want them in my muffins.

Ice Pops
I made this a second time in the same cherry flavor. I am fairly sure I was a bit too impatient for the first Ice Pops. You see I am extremely sensitive to the taste of sugar substitutes so I guess I was checking my first batch far too often and they just weren't freezing to the handle enough to come out properly. Second Batch was untouched overnight. 8 servings of this recipe with 2/3rds less cold water makes for 16 Ice Pops with the molds I have. Next flavor I try will be Lime. It is so much cheaper and tastier than what the Ice Cream Man or the Grocery Stores offer in pre-made Ice Pops. I still have to figure out a way to get the Liquid into the Molds without dripping all over the place.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies II
I've made this twice. Once with plain Semi-Sweet chocolate chips, and the second with Half Semi-Sweet, half Ghirardelli 60% cacao Chocolate Chips and a tablespoon or two of Pure Vanilla Extract. Personally I liked the second batch better, and I even have some left over dough from the three dozen cookies this recipe is supposed to yield. I think I'll turn that into a giant cookie later on.

Iced Tea II
OIrange Pekoe is a term to describe what "grade" a tea leaf is. There is only one true "tea". True tea comes in various grades. White, Green, Black Oolong, and their various flavored brothers and sisters (Earl Grey) come from the same plant, which is called Camellia sinensis. Pretty much every store will have the grade of tea which is referred to in this recipe. One of the most famous brands would probably be Lipton as that is their staple tea.
