Grandma's Polish Perogies

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I have made Pierogi's for over 20 years. This is by far the best recipe I have found for the dough. The sour cream makes it very easy for rolling. Not my 'Babci's' recipe, but much better. (please, don't tell her I said so!)

Glazed Lemon Supreme Pound Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
My son asked for a Lemon Pound cake for his birthday cake this year. (He will be turning 22 years old!) I found this recipe and thought I'd give it a try. I followed the recipe but added 1/4 cup sour cream and lemon pudding instead of lemon gelatin. Because I had to serve it to 12 people in a resturaunt, I decided to make cupcakes with this recipe. They turned out very moist. I poked holes in the cupcakes and poured 1 tsp of the glaze over it. I then mixed 1/4 cup water and 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a sauce pan. I mixed in 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp lemon extract. After the sugar was dissolved, I mixed it into 2 cups of confectionery sugar, and stirred in some yellow food coloring. I piped on some rose buds with some icing I already had. My husband loved this cupcakes. I will be taking the cupcakes 4 1/2 hours to see my son for his birthday /Easter.

Peachy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
These are very good. I do not care for ginger, so I substituted 2 Tlbsps of Maple Syrup. The pork was very tender and the peaches gave the pork a great flavor. Next time, I'd like to try some kind of orange flavor or pineapple flavor along with the peaches.

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
These are awesome! I've made these several times and a few weeks ago, my husband was looking to make some cookies, quick. I brought up this recipe and he couldn't get over how easy these cookies are to make. I forwarded the recipe to my son, who is in college. He loved the recipe too, and loved how simple the recipe is. Kudos'! Homemade chocolate chip cookies...FAST!

Fettuccini Alfredo I

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
This was great! I needed a recipe for school for a fund raiser. This was so easy to make and it was delicious. I tripled the recipe and held the sauce in a crock pot on Low. We then ladled the sauce over Pasta with either Pasta or Broiled Scallops. I first tried this recipe at home for Chicken Alfredo. Because my husband has lactose problems, I substituted Soy Milk. This recipe was so quick, easy and simple, I will add it to my bag of tricks when I need a quick meal. For a quick dinner idea, purchase a deli cooked chicken. Cook the Fettuccini Alfredo and stir in cubed cooked chicken. Add a side green salad to balance out the meal.

These where great and easy to make. The students in my class made this for our holiday fund raiser. We sold many of these and they help to make our fund raiser a success.

Bread Machine Calzone

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
being a professional baker, I do not own a bread machine. I do however own a Kitchen Aid Mixer. I made 1 1/2 times the recipes as some other reader's have done and I mixed it on the mixer. I allowed the dough to rise until double, about an hour. This dough was so yummy, we all made pigs out of our selves! It made delicious Calzones and we where each able to make our own, with our favorite fillings. I loved mine with Spinach, Mushrooms, Onions, ham and Mozzarella cheese. My husband suggested that next time, I leave some dough unused, and fry dough balls as some Italian restaurants do, and make zepoles for dessert. (small fried pizza dough balls, rolled in powdered sugar after frying)
