About this Cook
I'm 22 and going to culinary school. Right now, I'm taking Basic Baking which is a breeze for me, and am considered top of my class. I cook at home for my boyfriend and I, and when I'm in a non-meat sort of mood, my roommates too. I love fall and all the food that goes along with it. Yum.
My favorite things to cook
Roast chicken, soups, breads, and anything else that is a good, hearty fall food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom, aunt, and I cook Thanksgiving together, bumping into each other the whole time in a small kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Having my chef at school tell me my dishes are some of the best and having her announce to the class that I'm the leader.
My cooking tragedies
I still can not make gravy from scratch.

Banana Muffins II
Great recipe after some changes. I added a dash of vanilla and probably about a cup of walnuts. These weren't quite as big as I like, so I'll probably make 1.5x the recipe next time, so I get those nice pretty crowns that I love on my muffins.

Oriental Cold Noodle Salad
This was fantastic. I did it the Japanese way, so I left out the peanuts and cilantro and added seseme seeds. I accidentally forgot the pepper flakes, but will definatly add them next time. Perfect with a rare steak. Great summertime dish, and I can see myself making the sauce for salads and wraps in the future.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust
I've finally found a pizza dough recipe I like! I kept the recipe as it was, except I kneaded in some pizza seasoning into the crust, as well as about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of cornmeal. I think that the cornmeal really helped produce a yummy crisp crust. And this made enough dough (with a litte left over) for a 9 x 11 sheet pan. Thanks Jay!
