This was my very first ziti, and I couldn't have asked for a better recipe. I started off by browning the meat with seasoning salt, minced garlic and freshly cracked black pepper. I cut out the onion altogether and used low-fat mozzarella and sour cream. Oh, and I simply sprayed my Pyrex with olive oil spray. Our grater disappeared so I very thinly sliced down a 6 oz block of mozzarella. I layered everything as described in the recipe, making sure to spread the mozzarella strips evenly. Based off another review, I covered the dish prior to putting it in the oven. What I pulled out...I didn't expect. Amazing. I sent some down to my boyfriend's father, the first thing I'd ever cooked for him except dessert and he raved about it. So yes, this recipe will definitely stay in my rotation!!
