Garlic Cheese Grits with Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
5 stars. I am very happy with this recipe. The second time I made it, I cooked a few strips of bacon, and then used the same pan with the drippings to saute the garlic, tomato and shrimp. I added the crumbled bacon as a topping. Great flavor. 7/15/14 Update: I now add a little white wine to the shrimp mixture and cook. Adds an extra flavor. A family favorite

Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2014
We really loved this rub! Didn't change anything, and can't wait to make these again. I rubbed the chops and let them sit for a little while, and the rub stayed on while grilling. Thank you!

Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2014
We really loved this recipe. I only marinated 3 hours. I added some grated ginger, kept the marinade and added some cornstarch/water to thicken it on the stove. It made a wonderful thick marinade to brush on the chops while on the grill. This is definitely an addition to our rotation. Thank you!

Homey Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
Great recipe! I always like to add something green to a casserole, slip in a veggie, so this time had green peas on the shelf. Delicious. Next time will try with broccali or asparagus. Everything else I followed as written.

Down Home Baked Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
Excellent! Followed directions exactly the first time, wouldn't change a thing. The second time, after cooking bacon, onions, I put it all in the crock pot for a few hours on low and it was just as delicious! I used canned pork and beans from Sams as they are not flavored like many of the other baked beans that already have sugar, bbq and spices mixed in. The sugar and chili sauce made an excellent flavor combination. I make double recipe and always take to events as my contribution and get rave reviews.

Chicken Piccata with Artichoke Hearts

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2013
This recipe was awesome. I did have to change it a little, but the sauce is what makes it and I loved it. I was preparing the chicken and realized I had no artichokes, who took them! haha So, I opened a can of portobella mushrooms and added some sun dried tomatoes instead, and it turned out fantastic. I added more garlic than recommended because we love garlic. I was great, highly recommebd.

"Pantry Raid" Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2013
This was a surprise hit! Everyone loved it. In true pantry raid style, I had to sub petite diced tomoatoes (I had no tomato sauce) and it turned out great. I mashed them up to try for a more 'tomato sauce' consistency. Everything else exactly as written. I will make this one regularly.

Easy After Work Chicken Francaise

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2013
This was sooo good. Followed almost exactly, added a couple spices, and had to use beef broth as I was out of chicken, but it was great. I always try to make extra for lunch the next day, but my husband ate it all!! Definitely try this one.

5 Cup Salad

I've made this for years, my mother-in-law's exact recipe, handed down, and we continue to make it for all occasions. I added pecans and it is even better. (My mother always decorated hers with cherries)

Holly's Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2013
Excellent! I followed directions, but instead of layering, mixed it all together with the soup, etc, then poured into a casserole dish with some crumb mixture on the bottom and the crumb mixture on the top. The chicken was in cubes, like the ham. It turned out great! Definitely a do-over for my family.

Asparagus, Potato, and Onion Frittata

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
My family loved this recipe. I used frozen O'Brien hash browns (with onion and peppers already mixed in). I cooked it in a skillet that can go in the oven, so after all was mixed together, just used the one pan for the oven. Since the skillet was hot, it didn't take quite as long to cook. I will make this again, especially when we have company spend the night. I believe you could also sub broccali and add in some mushrooms if you would like. Very good!
