Vegan Brownies

I just wanted brownies cuz I had mad cravings. Didn't have normal ingredients for brownies. I did not have cocoa powder, so I reduced the sugar and omitted the salt and used my favorite gourmet hot cocoa mix because it already has sugar and salt in it. I used 1 1/2 C sugar 1 C cocoa mix and I also added pecans and raspberry syrup flavoring!!! The end result was a chocolaty, moist, slightly raspberry flavored, hot cocoa cake. It was not the texture of a brownie. At all. Maybe on the edge but just because I had to cook it longer than the time mentioned I think. It was still great, who doesn't love chocolate cake.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

NOMNOMNOM! I love sweet cornbread! And this was exactly that. If you want just a basic, sweet, insanely moist cornbread than this is the recipe! Great with honey in the morning or with old fashioned pinto beans (just add more salt with the beans).

Chewy Caramel

For a first time caramel maker, this was pretty easy and good. I used this recipe for caramel apples so I only got it to about 236 F and then immediately took it off and added the vanilla. The only thing I will change next time is adding more salt, I like really salty, creamy caramel.

Kofta Kebabs

Pretty good. It was enough for 2 maybe 3 people, I made 3 average size skewers, I have no idea why it says you need 28 skewers. I couldn't even make 4 with 1 lb of lamb. But it was perfect for me and my man. Very juicy, great flavor. If you have a family I would make 2 lbs. I served with yogurt sauce I made, grilled pita breads, lettuce, tomato, and cucumber.

Chewy Maple Cookies

These are what i will call my PMS cookies. Was having massive cravings last night at 9:30 and looking for a cookie recipe that i could use without having to go to the store. they were chewy and very sugary i loved them. i didnt have the coconut but it didnt matter. i also didnt have brown sugar so i just used raw sugar. they satisfied my cravings thats for sure

Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

delicious!! loved it. i think i cooked my too long tho trying to get it to look like the picture lol, burnt the the glaze that was in the pan BUT i saved half of it that i simmered in the saucepan the whole time the chicken was cooking so it was nice and thick and rich for the plating. i loved it! served it with biscuits and green beans

Buttery Rolls

ok so instead of delicious rolls i got delicious biscuits........i have never made bread before and dont have a bread machine, im guessing something to do with the yeast is what i messed up on. i like biscuits and they tasted wonderful but were definetely not rolls. should have guessed something when they didnt rise one bit

Kaese Spaetzle

it didnt taste bad but i was expecting something more like macaroni and cheese....it is really dry and basically just cheese and dough bits. waaaayy too much onion for me. a big gloppy stringy mess basically not creamy at all. i did get swiss emmentaler cheese too. i guess it tastes ok but dont expect the macaroni and cheese we are used to. and it was too hard to use a cheese grater so def use something else

Lemon Icebox Pie II

bc i heard this pie has problems setting i used the juice of two lemons and one 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk. for the first hour i put the pie in the freezer and it was already firm. but i stored it in the fridge for a few more hours. BUT i think it needed more lemon flavor...that being my fault...so i think next time i will use more lemon juice but i had no problem getting it to set even after an hour so i think it will be ok. the recipe itself is a good one although i dont see why you need both types of milk

Super Easy Doughnuts

I only used half of an egg and the 6 Tbs of milk and had no problems working with the dough with some dusting of flour. Only thing i would change is adding more sugar. The donuts didnt have a lot of flavor but i would say a good base recipe for cake donuts

Cake Balls

I used a chocolate super moist boxed cake mix, vanilla frosting, and regular chocolate coating bark. It wasnt as sweet as I would have liked. Although I think I like my icings/treats more rich than most people it is just my opinion. In my second batch-i divided it into three out of the recipe-i added a 1/2 C of powdered sugar. That helped some. In my last i added peanut butter. It was harder to make the balls but everything is better with peanut butter.

Purple Monstrosity Fruit Smoothie

Just the perfect smoothie that I was craving. I tried it both ways, one with the orange juice and one with milk. I felt it really needy the acidity of the orange juice. So the recipe is perfect

Bill's Sausage Gravy

This is definitely the better gravy recipe. I have been making gravy like this since I was a child, being from the south. If you don't let the flour brown it will not have much flavor. Thank you for adding that tip

Herbed Rice Pilaf

It was my first attempt to make rice not from out of a box haha. Mine turned out creamy and very flavorful. I did add garlic. It did take longer than 50 minutes though probably about an hour and 15 minutes

Coconut Shrimp I

This is a great recipe. I did substitute the beer for coconut milk because it was easier for me to get being under age. It made the coconut flavor really stand out. I can't stop eating them!
