Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
Followed the directions...but used all purpose (white) flour instead of w/w because I misread lol I had to add more flour & couldn't understand why... Now I know lol My dog loved them & they were easy to make. My 8-year old niece even tried one...she said they were decent hehe

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
One Word: Amazing!!! Both my boyfriend & I LOVED these...everything was PERFECT!! The only change I made was: I used 3 1/2 C. Bread Flour, 1 C. All-Purpose Flour...and that was only because I only had 3 & 1/2 C Bread Flour. Also, it didn't specify, but I used Golden Brown Sugar. These taste just like Cinnabon's Cinnamon Rolls. Thank You for the Dead-On Recipe!!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
Excellent brownies!!! I had just under the suggested amount of cocoa powder (1 C), but it didn't make a difference...they were really good. Also, I used 1 C Milk Chocolate Chips, instead of semisweet, because of what I had on hand. I used a 9x13 pan, and they were a good height. I also drizzled them with caramel cake filling, and they were amazing!! This was my first time making brownies from scratch. 3RD Time Making Them: Used 2 C. Sugar, 1 C. Golden Brown Sugar...did not make any other substitutions. As always, delicious!!!

Nanaimo Bars I

I doubled the recipe, so I could make a 9x13 pan full. I did not use nuts, and I quadrupled the chocolate topping (Double it in a regular batch). Awesome!!

Pistachio Mallow Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
I have been making this for many years...I use 1 container of Whipped Cream (Not sure of the size), 1 Pkg of Pistachio Pudding, 1 Pkg Coloured Marshmallows, and 1 Can of Pineapple Tidbits (Drained, but not all the way). It's a great salad. I've never added food colouring or nuts...but as a twist, you can add: Chopped maraschino Cherries, Coconut, Mandarin Oranges, or even fruit cocktail! Just make sure you drain any of the add-ons completely, or your "salad" will be too juicy!

Lick Your Lips Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
Delicious!!! I made a 2-layer 8" round cake & filled the cake with vanilla pudding. For the icing, I used: Double Batch of Sweetened Whipped Cream (From this site) Can of crushed Pineapple with juice Coconut Pudding Mix It was awesome!!!!! However, my cake needed to be kept in the fridge right until serving because the icing was droopy...but that could be because I made whipped cream from scratch, and didn't use Cool Whip. I would definitely make this again!! Next time I am going to try adding cherries or pineapple to the cake mix, as the cake itself was kind of boring. Or maybe I will use french vanilla cake mix instead of the yellow. Definitely worth a try & very easy!

Sweetened Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
Delicious!! I doubled the recipe because I am frosting a 2 layer 8" cake (Add 1 can crushed pineapple + 1 pkg vanilla pudding for frosting) & only added 5 TBS of icing sugar & it was delicious! I'm sure it would've been just as good if I added 6 TBS, but I started with 5 & it was fine. 2 C. Heavy Whipping Cream 5 TBS Confectioners/Icing Sugar 1 tsp Vanilla

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
I used 3/4 C. Butter (Instead of 1 C) & 1 3/4 C. Hershey's Mini Kisses Baking Chips (Instead of 1 & 1/2 C. Semisweet Baking Chips). I had a hard time smoothing out the peanut butter mixture, so I took a piece of parchment paper, placed it over the mixture & pushed down & smoothed it out. As I was melthing the chocolate over the saucepan, I put the peanut butter mixture in the freezer for about 5 min. After I poured the chocolate on top, I let it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes until it set. Then I cut it into squares & popped it back in the freezer for about 10 min. Then I scooped the squares out & enjoyed! It was a BIG hit. My mom loves Reese's PB Cups, but doesn't like sweets, and she ate about 4-5 squares herself!!

Poppy Seed Dressing I

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
Very similiar to a recipe that I already use: 1/2 C. Miracle Whip (Doesn't have to be Fat-Free) 2 Tbs White Vinegar 1/4 C. Sugar 1/4 C. Milk 1 Tbs Poppy Seeds Salad: 1 Head of green leaf lettuce, washed & cut 1 Container Strawberries, washed & Hulled OR Raspberries OR Mixed Berries (My favourite is Strawberries) 1 Red Onion, cut into "O"s (Optional: Mandarin Oranges, drained) Mix together. Add dressing right before serving, otherwise it will be soggy. SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
This is my go-to recipe. I use it for all of my cakes. I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, so I throw all of the sugar in at once. I probably add more vanilla than necessary (I seem to be a vanilla junkie lol) I almost always add more milk than required. It is perfect for decorating or frosting with a spatula. I have never tried it with just butter. I always use shortening & margarine. ***It also stores well in the fridge for a week or two. You might just have to whip it again after you leave it at room temperature***

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
Doubled the recipe, but only used enough lemon juice for a single batch (Only had 2 lemons, and it wasn't enough, apparently). Overall, it was very good! UPDATE: I made it exactly as written, using a large pack of stewing beef that I softened with my meat tenderizer. I poured the marinade over it & let it sit for about 30 min. Then I made Shish-Kebabs with it. I ised 1 large pack of stewing beef, 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper, and 1 red onion. It made 22 delicious shish-kebabs!!

Absolutely Delicious!!!! The sauce was a little sweet, so next time I will try 3/4 C. Sugar + 1/2 C. Brown Sugar & see how that goes. An easy, delicious dessert for any time!!! It is wonderful as is...I will just try to cut a bit of unnecessary sugar next time. try it-you will love it!!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I made these for 10 servings, using the Allrecipes Calculator. They turned out perfectly!! The only thing is that when I changed the servings, it said to use 1 & 1/4 tsp salt...when I tried the sauce before I poured it on top, it was salty. However, when the potatoes were done, they were perfect!! (I just didn't put any salt & pepper on top on my own plate). Very good recipe!!

Gramma's Date Squares

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
Doubled the recipe (had a few less dates on hand), used 1C butter/normal batch (So 2 C for a double batch) & baked in a 9x13 pan. Baked crust first while dates were cooking. Did not dice dates...cooked them whole, then blended briefly.
