Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
Yummy!! Very good dressing. Substituted yogurt (vanilla actually because that is all I had) for the mayo. It was so good! I will use vanilla yogurt the next time I make it too!

Cookie Salad II

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
My aunt has been making this exact recipe, without oranges, for as long as I can remember and it is always a hit, especially with the kids! Don't worry if the pudding seems really stiff, it will work out perfectly once you fold in the cool whip.

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
This was really good! I had never tried jerk seasoning before and thought that it tasted great! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the amount of liquid. I wanted a nice coating of seasoning, so I cut down all the liquid measurements to a third of what was called for. It turned out perfect! Thanks for the great recipe!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
This was delicious! I loved the ranch/worchestershire flavor. I made it using yogurt instead of oil to make it more like a sauce than a marinade. I skewered it and broiled it for about 7 minutes on 550 and it was perfectly moist and tender! Wonderful recipe I will make again!

Chocolate Scotcheroos

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
These are a family favorite! No on in my family actually needs to look at a recipe for these, but I wanted to tell everyone else how wonderful they are. You can actually do everything in the microwave. Just microwave sugar and corn syrup together until it just starts to boil (if you boil for too long the bars will be hard), remove from microwave and stir in peanut butter. Add rice crispies, then simply press into a pan with your hands, they won't get messy, really. The melt chips in the microwave. We make these for everything. They are so simple and delicious. And if you run out of rice crispies you can you corn flakes, or we even used cherrios once (not recommended, but it worked!)

Waffles I

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
Great basic recipe! I made it exactly as written and it made 14 beautiful waffles in my cuisin art waffle iron. There wasn't anything extra special about these waffles, but you could personalize them with a teaspoon of any extract, such as lemon or maple. Great basic recipe for waffles! Thanks!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
I made this just as stated and it was too thick for a dressing, better for a dip. Also, it had too much dill. The dill was overpowering. I think it will have a great flavor if the dill is reduced.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
I have made these 3 times in the last 2 weeks. They are amazing! I made them even more fudgy by melting the chocolate chips with the butter, fantastic! I also halved them and made them in a 9x9 pan, baked for 30 minutes. They are so easy and delicious. The 2nd and 3rd times, I made frosting. One time a chocolate glaze, the other a chocolate buttercream. Both were great. Today when I brought them I was told by several people that they were the best brownies they had ever eaten. Great compliment for great brownies! Update: So I have now made these brownies more times than I can count (in 3 months) and every time they have been fantastic. I was inspired by the zucchini brownie recipe on this sight (and the 2 dozen zucchini sitting in my kitchen) so substitute zucchini for the butter. They were fantastic! No one knew they had zucchini in them and they were super fudgey and rich. You just need to add about 5 minutes to the baking time and you will have fabulous, decadent, chocolatey zucchini brownies (and no one will know it's in there!)

Creole Seasoning Blend

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
I made this exactly as stated, and I thought it was boring. The oregano and thyme were over powering and I was disappointed after all the great reveiws. I will try something different when I want to use a creole seasoning again. note: I used this to season grilled orange roughy fillets

Fresh Strawberry Pie I

This is one of my all time favorite desserts! This recipe is wonderful, it has been in our family for years. The only difference is that we pile all the ingredients into 1 homemade pie crust! Fabulous!

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
This recipe is fantastic! I didn't change a thing about the marinade, but I did use whole bone-in, skin- on thighs and wings. They were so flavorful and juicy! Then we used the left overs in a casserole and the flavor of the marinade was just wonderful! Thank you for this great recipe!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
Delish! Made with chicken instead of shrimp, becuase that is what we like. I followed other reveiws and doubled the sauce. Plus I added carrots, water chestnuts, and green bell pepper. Perfect recipe for the sauce. Also used 2 T. fresh grated ginger and fried with the garlic. The flavor was so rich and wonderful!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
Delicious and Healthy! I used less butter (only 1 1/2 T.) and used fat free cream cheese. I thought the taste was great, although next time I will experiment with different spices because I thought the majoram was a little strong. The only other thing I did was add more water, because it seemed almost like mashed potatoes instead of soup when I blended it. I will definitely make it again though!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Awesome! Perfect guacamole! I didn't have tomatoes so I used a few tablespoons of salsa that I had already and blended it to make it smooth. Tasted great! Update: made exactly as stated. WONDERFUL! Wouldn't change a thing!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
I thought these were good, but not outstanding. I didn't think they had enough flavor. Although the parmesan/cream cheese mixture was perfectly creamy and wonderful! Update: made them again and added about 1/4 t. salt. So much better! They were really great. The only thing I would do next time is add a little sausage, then they would be perfect!

Sweet Corn Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Wonderful! I tried to make them a little healthier by using 1/2 butter 1/2 applesauce. They still tasted great! I made them as muffins and it made about 22. They were perfect! I will definitely make these again!

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
The filling tasted great! I ate the left over filling with crackers as a dip and it was wonderful. However, when I baked it it was too thin and ran out of the chicken, it wasn't creamy inside like I had hoped. Also, it took a long time to bake the chicken since it was so thick. I made this again, using my favorite method of pounding the chicken and pan frying with cooking spray (super simple) then I just spooned the filling over and crumbled on the bacon. Awesome! It tasted great and it was really simple and fast!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
These were awesome! There isn't much else to say! I did add about 2 t. vanilla (and red food coloring for Vday, since I made them heart shaped with cookie cutters) but other than that I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out fluffy and perfect! Update: Have made these many times, with perfect results every time! Today I even used spelt flour and they were still fluffy and wonderful!
