Camp Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
This was excellent. Very sweet, but that is how my family likes it. My dad liked it with plain butter, but everyone else loved it with chipotle butter. It would be great for breakfast too. Loved it!

Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
My family has been doing this for years and we really like it. One thing I have to say is that you need to use a lot more peanut butter to get the desired gooey effect that you want when making a griled pb&j.

This is such an excellent appetizer. My aunt makes the best pepper jelly, served with crackers it is always a hit.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
These were very good if you like a cakey cookie. They taste almost identical to pumpkin bars, just in cookie shape and minus the cream cheese frosting. Personally I was hoping for a normal cookie consistancy with a pumpkin bar flavor.

Crispy Herb Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
The way I made it was five stars, but this recipe really needed a little adjustment! I added 1/2 t. italian seasoning, 1/2 t. papricka, and 1/4 t. pepper. I also used a butter/egg wash, instead of just butter to help the crumbs stick better. I baked the chicken (I used boneless skinless chicken breasts) on a rack and turned them about 2/3 of the way through. My large chicken breasts took about 35 minutes at 375. They came out moist and very flavorful! This was definitely good baked chicken!

Ciabatta

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
This was great! I made the starter about 14 hours before mixing with remaining ingredients. The flavor was outstanding! I did 2 loaves, one with garlic and parmesan on top, the other plain. Both were a hit! This is real ciabatta and it is great! note: I didn't use a stone, but I baked it at 425 for 18 minutes and it was beautifully done.

Mound Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
These are excellent! I have a recipe almost identical to this, the only minor differences are that mine calls for 1/2 c.sugar and then 2 T. peanut butter with the chocolate chip which also may help with the chocolate being softer. They are one of my families favorite bars! I also have a hard time spreading the coconut so I will try sprinkling the coconut and pouring the milk over next time! Good idea, Thanks!

Caramel Brownies II

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
My family has been making these since before I was born. The only difference is we just use regular milk with our caramels. They are always fantastic!

Apple Walnut Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
Fantastic! I used less onion as recommended and used toasted pecans instead of walnuts because that is what my family prefers and added a little bit of shredded mozzarrella. Great salad! Will definitely be making again! Update: made this for a dinner party and everyone went back for seconds! I was even asked for the recipe which means it is extremely good! It is a new favorite!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
Really great crust! I have made it 2x, once with all purpose flour and once with half wheat half all purpose. My family actually prefered the wheat. It turned out great!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
This was fantastic. I, like many other people, was a little scared after adding the water. But the cake was great! I actually made cupcakes, and it made 24 overflowing cupcakes. They tasted so good. Rich and fluffy all at the same time. I frosted them with my favorite chocolate frosting recipe and everyone in my family loved them. Next time I want to pipe cream into the middle of them!

This is great banana bread. I am a bit of a health nut so I used whole wheat flour and apple sauce for the oil. Tasted fantastic! Topping was perfect!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
After reading a ton of excellennt reviews I was disappointed in these cookies. They were nothing special. The texture was great, but the taste was just kind of boring. I prefer the original nestle cookie over this one. Great texture, just bland.

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This was a good way to prepare pork chops, but fairly boring. I actually let the pork marinade in the mixture for about 4 hours before grilling it. I also added some garlic, just to spice it up a little. The pork was good, however, I'm not sure I would make it again.

This is awesome! We have made it so many times and we love it every time. Our favorite fish to make it with is Orange Roughy. It is flavorful with out being over powering. Perfect topping for fish and great preparation method!

Corn and Zucchini Melody

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
Great easy recipe! Perfect for a 'fresh from the garden' meal. I added garlic and salt, used frozen corn, and omitted the cheese. Fantastic. The first time I served it, I was asked for the recipe and we have eaten weekly at our house. Thank you for the simple, healthy, and delicious recipe!

Grilled Asian Chicken

This was some of the best chicken I have ever eaten. I don't know what it was, but the chicken was perfectly moist and the marinade didn't overpower it, it was absolutely perfect!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This bread was fairly boring. I used the amount of cinnamon called for, but it still came out very boring, even the next day. (sometimes the flavor enhances after sitting over night) I ended up making a cream cheese frosting for it that helped. While the flavor needed some help, the texture was perfect. I substituted half a cup of zucchini and half a cup of applesauce for the oil. Worked perfectly!
