Apple Crisp III
Thank you for sharing this tasty treat with us! Was craving a sweet dessert & had three apples in the fridge so I ran an ingredient search with key words for items I did have on hand. This recepe didn't call for oats, which I was out of & after I read the comments I decided to try it - good move as it was a HIT! Kudos to everyone for the the comments, your individual suggestions gave me many options on how to tweak the recipe. I adjusted the ingredients but only slightly: blended made a blend of sugar with both light brown & white sugar which I mixed with melted butter, drizzled pure maple syrup over the apples & cinnamon, slightly reduced the water, and sprinkled sea salt into the flour mix. The results were delicious, my fiancee & I each devoured a bowlful, enjoying every bite - he had a refill too! The best thing about this recipe is that with a little creativity, we can easily compliment it with other yummy treats, I'd like to scoop either vanilla ice cream, whipped or heavy wipping cream at time of serving the next time I make it. Maybe I'll add gobs of prepped all-purpose flower mix to morph it into a cobbler…Raisins, oats, walnuts…The possiblities are endless =)
