About this Cook
im 22 and a new mom to cole alexander, born may 13 2008. Grew up in st.bernard parish in louisiana but moved when i was 17 to the houma/thibodaux area. Love to write and read and cook. I love to try new things in the kitchen. I especially love pastas and chicken dishes. Although I've been cooking for a while I am still learning new and different things. I don't get the chance to cook as much as I wouldlike. Hopefully things will be changing not too far in the future.
My favorite things to cook
pastas, chicken dishes, anything with cheese. I love to bake too. Things that are delicious and also a little on the healthy side.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Helping my mom in the kitchen. Even if it was just chopping up the ingredients. I loved holidays because everyone was in the kitchen cooking together.. getting in each others way and a little nit picking here and there but still fun family time.
My cooking triumphs
may not seem big to others but the only thing i actually created myself was chili. Chili is supposed to be one of the easiest things to cook and it was, but everything i did was my own idea. My very own recipe. And everyone loved it.
My cooking tragedies
A few years ago, my first time making lasagna. It was in the culinary class in school. My group usually worked well together but we were excited about the meal we were making and completely forgot to drain the grease out of the meat after cooking it. The lasagna was horrible. Too greasy. But our strawberry shortcake was delicious lol.

Chicken Breasts with Herb Basting Sauce
Really great. My family loved it. I doubled the basting sauce and used skinless chicken breasts. Made it with a side of green bean casserole and noodles. Will definately be making this again.
