Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
Oh my! These are amazing! I didn't follow the recipe too closely but with brown sugar instead of white, applesauce instead of oil, 3/4C. whole wheat flour and butterscotch chips instead of chocolate chips these are absolutely addicting! I made a dozen big muffins and 10 mini muffins. The big ones only took 19 minutes and probably could have done with slightly less time and the mini ones were probably done in about 10 minutes! So watch your muffins closely-maybe that's why some are getting hard muffins?

Hamburger Soup I

Surprisingly really good. Wasn't really expecting anything particularly amazing but for some reason the flavours blend incredibly well and it is delicious!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

These were delicious and extremely simple to make! Breakfast in 20 minutes is what I prefer on Saturday mornings! Vanilla was a great addition to this recipe!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
This was amazing! I am writing this review slightly late as I made this during Christmas, the night we put up our tree, and it was a hit! The smell was amazing and the leftovers were fabulous when you put them in the microwave for a few seconds! I would probably make these every week if I didn't have such a small family because otherwise my hubby and I would gain so much weight polishing these off each week! You will love this recipe!

Herbed Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
This soup was just alright. I would definitely do half water/half veggie broth next time. It tasted like a white sauce basically with a few herbs in it. I added cheese, carrots, corn, celery and garlic powder to increase the flavour but still wasn't amazed by it. This was a very thick soup as well and my hubby came in and actually thought it was a sauce to go over pasta and so that's what we did in the end-had it over penne noodles?! All in all it was just an alright flavour, I would definitely add broc. next time as well.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
This cake was very good! I made it the night before, added 1 cup of cocoa and it was delicious! Did a double layer cake with chocolate frosting and crunchie bar candy pieces in between the layers and on top! yum!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
Not the best brownie I've ever had by a long shot. I decreased the flour to one cup like everyone seemed to suggest, perhaps next time I wouldn't but I don't think there will be a next time for this recipe since there are much better recipes out there.

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
I looove this soup! It was delicous although not enough to serve 6 for sure! The only changes I made were adding water (4 Cups) and some bouillon (only enough for 1.5 Cups not 4)instead of veg broth and omitted the salt as a result, I used ground ginger instead of the real thing and ended up adding milk to the soup at the very end before serving. I simmered my soup too long so the milk help 'thin' it out as well as cool it down a bit! You won't believe how delicious this was, I was definitely surprised. It's also extremely easy and quick to make!

Wisconsin Cheese Soup II

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I thought this soup was really good. I added about 1/4 tsp of nutmeg but I think I would add a little more next time and I would definitely add more veggies, as it really didn't call for enough. It was delicious!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
This was good standard chili. I only had one pound of ground beef but added the same amount of spice in along with a big can (28oz) of chopped tom's (not drained) and no tomato juice from recipe and it tasted good. I might add some sausage next time. If you do this with 2 pounds of ground beef I would definitely add more of the spices!

Fluffy Canadian Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
This recipe was great for its fluffy-ness but definitely lacked in flavour even after i added 1 tblsp of vanilla and 2 tblsp of sugar (to a double recipe). So I think maybe I might play around with this a bit more and see, maybe add some buttermilk? It was good though doused in maple syrup!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This is a heavenly cake! I haven't really tried it yet but there was a little piece that came off (very tiny) that I tried after taking it out of the oven and it was so good I was thinking of making it a two layer cake instead of three (just so I could sit there and eat one layer of it)! The solution to the cake sticking to the pan is definitely greased parchment paper!

Chocolate Torte

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This was an amazing recipe! I doubled the amount of icing and used it with the "Dark Chocolate Cake I" recipe off this site and it looked really yummy! Although, the finished product I have not tasted since I sent it off with a friend for a party! The icing was delicious and I would absolutely recommend using fruit in the layers. I sliced up strawberries for the top and then grated chocolate on top! Yummy! I hope some comes back for me to try (I just didn't think it would look good if there was a slice missing!=)
