About this Cook
My name is Karen and I live in Arizona. I'm a Junior in high school and I'm attending a tech school for half the day studying culinary arts. I like eating healthy- I hate soda and pop tarts and stuff like that. I pretty much just love to cook and bake it's a constant hobby! I have a terrible sweet tooth... and that's pretty much it!
My favorite things to cook
Pretty much anything... I like anything that gives me a challenge in the kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving we use my great-great grandmother's recipe for a tart cranberry and orange relish.
My cooking triumphs
Pretty much everything I attempt to make turns out pretty good...
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make a chocolate silk pie and I melted a pan... don't ask me how!

Buttermilk Pancakes II
Very very good and easy to make. We made them with added vanilla, cinnamon, and some grated and some chopped apples just for some added flavor. Very good everybody liked them!

Apple Breakfast Bread
Soooo yummy! i really liked this bread it was nice and moist and crumbly with a chewy/crunchy crust! made the house smell wonderful too. I added about 2 tblsp of oil and did 1/2 brown sugar 1/2 white and i also grated the granny smith apples to get a more overall apple taste rather than just chunks. I also removed the bread immediately from the pan. if i had left it in it would've burned. would definitely make again and would recommend!
