Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
I love this recipe! I was short 1/4 cup butter, so I substituted it with shortening. I also used light sour cream and added semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. I brushed the top with eggwash and sprinkled raw sugar on top. These scones are the best!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I veganized this recipe and also made it a bit healthier. I substituted the egg with two tablespoons of applesauce, and I also used soymilk instead of milk. I substituted some of the flour for white whole wheat flour, and used shortening instead of butter. It turned out delicious!

Apple Scones

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
The apple scones turned out pretty good although I made many changes to the recipe. I added a palmful of brown sugar and a bit of vanilla and cinnamon to the batter. I also used light soymilk instead of the milk. I was disappointed that it wasn't very sweet, so I made a cinnamon glaze and drizzled it on each scone. The major problem I had with the scones was that they turned out very cakelike, which was not the texture I was going for.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

These turned out so fudgy and delicious! I baked them for 15 minutes in a mini muffin pan, but I followed the rest of the recipe completely. =)
