About this Cook
I'm 24 and live with a roommate who is my best friend. I LOVE to be in the kitchen and have been cooking and making up my own recipes since I was a little girl. I do not like to measure a lot of ingredients; I also like spontaneity in the kitchen. I hope to start my own baking business in the next year.
My favorite things to cook
For myself, I cook mostly health food since I enjoy sticking to a low-carb diet. I like to make zucchini-stuffed chicken (my favorite), but I'm also a big fan of omelets. I make a very healthy cheese and roasted corn dish that is amazing. For others, I bake a lot of desserts and some of my favorites are a peanut butter layer cake and a dark chocolate bundt cake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad really enjoys cooking, he taught me how to make excellent scrambled eggs using bacon grease. He also has been making a super brown rice side dish longer than I've been around, it's excellent. My grandmother used to always make fried salmon patties with homemade biscuits and molasses. It's very time-consuming, but it's my family's FAVORITE and we'd always beg for it at Christmas. My family does a lot of grilling; we like our steaks. :)
My cooking triumphs
Any time I try out a new recipe and everyone loves it, it goes in my recipe binder and I make it on a frequent basis. That's always a triumph...Pushing myself to make everything from scratch is also a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
Any time I burn cookies or my brownies come out mushy...I don't have a lot of patience, and that's something I need to work on in the kitchen definitely.

Peanut Butter Cake II
I love this cake. I'm a peanut butter junkie! Very light and fluffy, has a rich taste...I decorated mine with Reese's :)

Mushroom Melt Stuffed Chicken
This recipe is very easy to make, and makes my kitchen smell absolutely delicious. Instead of flattening the chicken and rolling it, I stuffed the chicken with the ingredients. I also use crushed bran flakes instead of bread crumbs for a healthier version. DELICIOUS!

Surprise Banana Cake
The batter smelled absolutely delicious while baking, and the cake is nice and moist. I tweaked it by adding 1 1/2 cups of oats for a nice "oatmeal cookie" type texture, it tastes phenomenal. Enjoy!!
