Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2014
Great flavor, easy to make. I probably wouldn't use this for a super high quality steak where I'd want the flavor of the meat to shine through though. Marinated for about 2 hours and was a touch on the salty side; definitely use less soy sauce if you plan to marinate for a long time (overnight, etc.).

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
Holy cannoli, this is a great recipe. I don't have a bread machine (and have never made bread before from scratch - AKA no experience with yeast, rising, etc.) but ANDYTAMI and mcatherwood's reviews were super helpful. Apart from their workaround for us folks who don't own a bread machine (and making a *tiny* bit of extra icing), I followed the recipe to a T. These cinnamon rolls came out perfect. So perfect in fact that I won an informal bakeoff at work with them! The only downside is that they disappeared so fast that I barely got to enjoy the fruits of my labor! Will be making this one again for SURE.

Easy Grilled Zucchini

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
Delicious and simple (although slicing zucchini lengthwise is tough without a mandoline). The best part is that this recipe's simplicity lets the zucchini flavor shine.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
I added mushrooms and green and red peppers, and made about 2.5x the sauce (I like my stir-fries a bit on the saucy side). Easy and delicious. Will be making this one again.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2013
Oh. My. God. These are ridiculously good. So rich, so delicious, and so easy to make (apart from dipping the balls in chocolate). I never really got the hang of dipping the balls in the chocolate. I tried the fork/teaspoon and 2 teaspoon methods some reviewers described, and most of my truffles looked nothing like the beautiful photos attached to this recipe. Doesn't matter - they tasted so good that no one cared that they weren't exactly beautiful to look at.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2013
Made this recipe as is. Super happy with the results - I was a bit worried that it would be too salty or sweet based on some other reviews, but it was delicious.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2013
Made as is to serve over spinach fettucine. Simple enough to make, but was a tad too salty, overwhelming the pasta. Next time, unsalted butter and maybe a bit less cheese to cut down on the salt. Also 1/4 cup is WAY too much parsley - probably only needed a few sprigs of it chopped.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
Made as is, except I didn't have enough tomato juice (only had six 5.5-ounce cans instead of one 46-ounce can). Came out very good - rich, hearty, super filling. Thought it would have more of a kick, but that can easily be adjusted next time with more chili powder, etc.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Made according to the recipe - very easy. Super tasty - moist inside, perfect crust. And holy , it is rich. This is not a loaf you're gonna eat in one sitting. Will make again.

Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
Used fresh green beans rather than frozen and they came out a little dry. Quite tasty though - next time I may try blanching them (or maybe the frozen ones are more moist?).

Snickerdoodles III

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
I made a few batches of this recipe and found that following it exactly resulted in cookies that were a little too hard, tall, and heavy on cinnamon. I also experimented with a bunch of the recommendations of other reviews and got better results. Definitely take the suggestions of other reviewers who recommend: 1) baking at a slightly lower temperature (or for less time), unless you like crispy/hard cookies; 2) wet your hands to roll the balls (otherwise the dough sticks); 3) flattening the balls a bit when you put them on the pan; 3) using a higher sugar to cinnamon ratio for the coating (depending on your tastes, obviously). These are worth making again with the above adjustments!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
Very very good, although there were too many onions for my taste so I used less than the recipe called for, and I wish I had done what several reviewers suggested and removed the foil for a bit in the oven to get a nice golden brown top. The ratio of cheese sauce to potato/onion seemed high, but maybe it's because I used significantly less onion. Will make again with some tweaks to these things. My boyfriend, btw, loved this as I had made it.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
This recipe was the first time I'd made brownies from scratch, and I found them to be pretty easy to make. I was a little nervous about the frosting (it was oddly crumbly, and I definitely thought I messed something up), but it actually spread okay enough with some elbow grease and a silicone spatula and tasted fine. I used Ghirardelli cocoa and the results were really good, especially with vanilla ice cream. I'll definitely make these again.

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2012
The mushroom sauce was amazing, but the chicken was a little dry and the flavor was a bit on the light side, IMO. My boyfriend absolutely loved this though.

Salmon Fillets with Creamy Dill

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
Pros: -fish comes out cooked very nicely (moist, flaky) -recipe's easy Cons: -recipe makes way too much topping The results of this recipe were okay. My boyfriend thought it tasted great, but I prefer other salmon recipes to this one. Perhaps a matter of taste here.

Grilled Rock Lobster Tails

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
This is the best lobster I've ever made. The seasoning is perfect - not too overpowering, but gives the lobster good flavor - and the recipe is pretty easy to carry out. Definitely will be doing this one again.

Asparagus Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
Cooked this recipe as is. Tasty results, but wish we had used shredded Parmesan instead of grated Parmesan cheese (i.e., Kraft in the plastic can). The grated stuff was fine, but it would've been better with shredded. Note: the recipe calls for a LOT more cheese than necessary. We should've eyeballed it. Also, it definitely didn't need so much butter/oil - would've cooked just as well with less. Other than that, this was really good and it was quick and easy to prepare.
