About this Cook
I love to cook when I have people who love to eat! Not much fun if there are picky eaters. I am temporarily living with daughter and family of four children since I lost my husband two years ago and moved to Texas. Waiting for a duplex apartment to become available.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking main dishes and salads and deserts. Guess I should have said everything! I love to cook big family dinners for holidays. Love soups of anykind.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Any recipe my mother or mother in law made. They were both good cooks and I learned so much from them. Big family meals were always a tradition in both families. I always loved to make birthday meals for my family. The celebration centered around the birthday persons favorite foods. Since my hubby passed away, every year on his birthday I remember him with his favorite, a lemon meringue pie
My cooking triumphs
Finally perfecting a lemon meringue pie for my honey.
My cooking tragedies
The first fresh cherry pie I made, I rolled the crust out on waxed paper and somehow baked the paper with the bottom crust! My new husband's best friends were there and my face was red but it was funny

Sweet Restaurant Slaw
I just made this colesway and it is by far the favorite of my families slaw. So much like the one made by a famous chicken restaurant! Will be my go to recipe for slaw now!!

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder
Awesome is the right description!! I couldn't find the dry Leek soup in our town but used dry Vegetable soup instead. I will keep looking for the Leek soup for next time---and there WILL be a next time! Thanks Cindy

Microwave Apple Crisp
I just saved this. I have been wanting to find this recipe for a long time. I used to make it years ago and lost the recipe so I know it is very good! Thanks for submitting and I can't wait to make it again!
