Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
This is a wonderfully, delicious recipe. The flavors are intense and leave you wanting more and more and more. The lamb taste great! I wouldn't change a thing, except roast two. Try this recipe and you want be disappointed.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I really enjoyed baking these cookies and could tell they would be soft and delicious as soon as I stirred in the walnuts. The first batch was trial and error, overbaked them for a minute. When I baked them for exactly 8 mins, they really lived up to their name...soft oatmeal cookies. Delicious.

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
These cookies are buttery, sweet, and soft. This recipe is the perfect recipe for the holidays to have fun with family and friends in the kitchen. Some were frosted, sprinkled with color sugar, and left plain. The edges baked golden brown which added just a little more flavor. I divided the dough into thirds and froze the last third. Well, I just baked the last sweet morsel last night and used a fluted edge to cut squares and they tasted just as sweet and buttery as the others from Christmas. I'll be doing this again for Easter using an egg shaped cutter. Just wonderful.

JIF® Irresistible Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
I did not care for this recipe. Its crumbly, lacks peanut butter taste, and just bland. UPDATE: 3/7/11 - After my first try, I just couldn't get this cookies off my mind and had to find out if it was me or the recipe. Well folks, it was definetly ME. I made this cookie again, tonight, and they are delicious, peanut buttery, and soft. I added a few chopped peanuts for more of the peanutty taste. In my first try, the cookies were like clay, maybe I forgot to add something. So glad I tried again. Yummy!!!

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
This is my go to recipe for sweet potato pie. The flavors work well and the pie filling, when baked, is the perfect consistency. For me, I like my pie a little sweeter, so I added a 1/4 c. sugar. Perfect with Edy's Double Vanilla Ice Cream.

Apple Crisp with Oat Topping

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
Wow, this was great!!!!! It's the heart and soul of holiday desserts, made with simple ingredients. After I mixed the topping together, I tasted it and found myself eating it by the spoonfuls. It is soooooo good!! Anyway, I added 2 tsp of vanilla extract (not that it needed it) to punch of the flavor. Once baked, the topping was sweet and crunchy and the apples were tender and sweet. Hot out the oven and topped with vanilla ice cream, just yummyliciousness!!!

Savory Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
Such a quick and easy recipe, not to mention really good. I added a tsp of herbes de provence (used it to season my turkey too) and the broth was very savory. I gave this five stars because it was easy (not a fan of poultry seasoning).

Seven-Up™ Pound Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I've had this recipe in my recipe box for years, but never rated it- until now. I made this for Thanksgiving 2012 and my son and nephew were begging me not to take it to my sister's house. And at dinner, I got so many compliments. My family really enjoys the citrusy flavor and sweetness of the cake. It's a dense cake, but not heavy and dry. And, it stands up well to a scoop of ice cream and fesh fruit (I usually slice strawberrys and put on top of it). I'm going to try this in mini bundt cakes and personalize the toppings.

Chef John's Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2013
This was my first time making crab cakes and they turned out great. I followed the directions but added a few things: a 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice, two thinly, chopped green onions, and I used Keebler's Flatbread Crackers in the Sea Salt and Olive Oil flavor instead of plain saltines; and, I fried the patties in olive oil. Next time, I'll double the recipe because these are so outrageously, mouth-watering good. These are perfect as crab cake slider appetizer.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2014
Great recipe! Its sweet without being syrupy sweet and the crust isn't doughy. I sliced my peaches a little thicker and added a teaspoon of almond extract to the peach mixture and a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough. The smell was awesome and you knew you were in for a real treat. Get ready folks, this cobbler is awesome. PS: Don't forget to serve it with vanilla ice cream (or your favorite ice cream).
