About this Cook
I've enjoyed cooking and baking since I was 5 years old. My Grandmother was an awesome cook and made it look effortless. Now, I'm finding out when you enjoy cooking, it really is. Mostly though, I love cooking during holidays. For me, it's such a welcomed challenge and I feel absolutely no pressure. Cooking and baking is more than a hobby; its relaxing and fulfilling.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork
Made this for tonight's dinner and wow, so tender, moist and flavorful. I made this with a 3.25lb pork butt and let it cook in my slow cooker on high for 4.5 hours. It smelled awesome and I couldn't wait to dig in. I used a mesquite flavored bbq sauce to cook it in, then after shredding it (oh it was super tender) I lathered it with a sweet, smoky, tangy bbq sauce. Next time, I'll skip the chili powder and add smoked paprika and add more garlic.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler
Great recipe! Its sweet without being syrupy sweet and the crust isn't doughy. I sliced my peaches a little thicker and added a teaspoon of almond extract to the peach mixture and a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough. The smell was awesome and you knew you were in for a real treat. Get ready folks, this cobbler is awesome. PS: Don't forget to serve it with vanilla ice cream (or your favorite ice cream).

Chef John's Crab Cakes
This was my first time making crab cakes and they turned out great. I followed the directions but added a few things: a 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice, two thinly, chopped green onions, and I used Keebler's Flatbread Crackers in the Sea Salt and Olive Oil flavor instead of plain saltines; and, I fried the patties in olive oil. Next time, I'll double the recipe because these are so outrageously, mouth-watering good. These are perfect as crab cake slider appetizer.
