About this Cook
I'm not sure what I ate when I was single, but when I got married and had a child, I started cooking!
My favorite things to cook
I actually made a squash soup recently for Thanksgiving that turned out to be a big hit. So I guess I enjoy cooking soups right now. I eat up positive reinforcement!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking and cooking with my daughter, letting her get her hands in everything so that she feels comfortable with the whole cooking process. She's proud she made her first pumpkin pie this year while I was making mine. I think this will be a tradition for years to come. If she's not involved in the kitchen, she gets cranky...
My cooking triumphs
That squash soup I said was a big hit, well, it started out being a flop. I walked away from my cauldron and burned the bottom of the vegetables. Looking to salvage the unburned layers, I asked my husband to google how to disguise a slightly burned flavor in a soup. We came up with a variety of seasonings to try. I went with curry. The soup turned out delish and became a new refreshing twist on an old classic.
My cooking tragedies
I do my best work after swimming a few miles. It gets the body feeling great and the mind relaxed and open to new things.
