About this Cook
Recently married, I happened upon a husband who will eat anything I put infront of him, which allows me to experiment with as many different dishes as I please if for no other reason than I'm curious. I have a small zoo of pets, and also am fond of the idea of making little treats and special dishes for them too. aside from that I collect owls, hull pottery, garden, and even try to find time for video games.
My favorite things to cook
I've recently taken the venture into cooking and eating different types of fish, I found that I liked tuna steaks a year ago and have since tried flounder, salmon, mahi mahi, orange roughy, tilapia and shark steaks. I also enjoy asian style cooking and really heavily lean towards asian marinades spices and seasonings. I enjoy making desserts as well, my favorite being different types of pie, I am an open hater of store bought pies, and try to make some dessert for every occasion. really, I'll cook just about anything, I love having dinner parties because there is really nothing more rewarding than watching my friends/family enjoy a meal I prepared myself.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Apple pie. My grandma and I always made apple pies and I still use all her technique and her recipe every year for christmas and thanks giving.
My cooking triumphs
This years turkey was absolutely perfect, the seasoning was amazing, the homemade cranberry sauce was fantastic and I did it all myself.
My cooking tragedies
stuffing. I always screw up the stuffing, and I cannot make a grilled cheese sandwich to save my life.

Alfredo Mostaccioli
This was such an excellent base sauce for me! I am a complete Nub to alfredo and wanted to do something nice for valentines day, all I changed was adding in about a tbsp or a little more of lemon juice and ditto for wine, and then added some asiago shredded cheese with the parmesan because I felt festive. It was amazing, I even had the sauce done early and had to reheat it (bad timing on my part) and it turned out fantastic, simple, easy, cheesy, and delicious! I mixed in steamed broccoli and boiled chicken afterwards for some zest and the flavor carried through, definately will reccomend this one, and added it to my recipe book!

Corn Chowder II
I thought this was surprisingly excellent, I followed the directions almost exactly except I shortened the cooking time. for anyone on a time budget, I suggest mixing the creamed corn and milk in the pan you want your finished soup in, on mediumish heat, after 5 minutes add in your other can of corn. In the meantime (during the 5 minutes) melt the butter in a separate small saucepan, then add the onions, give it the three minutes, add the seasonings, wine, and flour, add to what should be now a nice thick corn soup in the other pan, add the cheese and bell pepper and voila! Very easy, delicious, and took about 20 minutes.

Norwegian Pancakes - Pannekaken
These were amazing, I glazed some fresh strawberries to fill them with and then topped them off with some confectioners sugar frosting/glaze I had my friend over when I served em for breakfast and she told me it was the best breakfast she's ever had! I will definately be making them again, and they were so easy to cook!
