Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

This recipe was a HUGE hit with my husband. I didn't have any au jus sauce mix, so I improvised with brown gravy and worchestire sauce. Turned out fantastic!!!

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
This was an ok recipe, I will make it again. However, I doubled the butter/sugar mixture to put inside. I wish they would have risen a bit more, and I had to find another recipe for a glaze. Good thing I had one in my recipe box already for an angel food cake!

Mom's Shepherd's Pie

I made a few modifications to this recipe, based on what I had on hand. I added green beans, and green pepper to the meat mixture, and skipped the step of adding flour and water. Definately a hit with my husband, and my toddler! It allowed me to sneak in veggies!

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
I used this recipe to make the fondant for my wedding cake(which I made myself!) It was a HUGE hit with all 100 guests at the wedding, no one could believe it was homemade. I had a few people ask for the recipe so I shared it with them, and one of them used it on her son's wedding cake, and it was a huge hit with them too! Fantastic recipe!

Chicken and Dumplings IV

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
This was a HUGE hit with my family!! I made quite a few changes to the recipe, to fit the ingredients that I had on hand. I used two boneless/skinless chicken breasts. I boiled them in chicken broth, with an additional 2 cups of water/chicken bouillon. To the broth, I added some garlic salt, chopped onion, a dash of italian seasoning, and parsley. I let this boil for an hour, and then shredded the chicken. I added the butter, and also a can of peas, and a can of carrots and let return to a boil. I let boil for an additional hour, before adding 1/2 cup cornstarch mixed in 1 cup water, and returned to a boil. I made the dumplings and dropped them in to cover the top of my mixture. I let this cook, uncovered for 25 minutes. I let the whole thing sit 15 minutes before serving. This made enough to serve 4 grown adults, and my toddler, with some leftovers!! I will definately be making this again! I only rated it a 4 because of all my changes!

Decorator Frosting I

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
This is the perfect frosting for decorating!! I'm not crazy about almond, so I used clear butter and vanilla extracts to keep the frosting white, and give it a buttercream taste. My husband, who hates frosting, even liked it.

Southern Potato Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
This potato salad is almost perfect!! I omitted the eggs and garlic, and added a bit of vinegar and sugar. I also had to use a bit more mayo and mustard to make it creamier. Instead of cubing the potatoes, I chunked them roughly and then hand mashed them, and my family and friends LOVED it!
