Pizzelles II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I thought this was the closest to the recipe I was looking for, which uses a dozen eggs and oil instead of margarine or butter.I use oil of anise which gives the cookie a stronger anise flavor because the alcohol doesn't burn out as it does with the flavoring.A trick to keeping them crisp is to try not to make them on a rainy or humid day and like my grandmother did,she stored them in a brown paper bag or in a card board box never stored or wrapped air tight.Oh!! Thanks for the great recipe

Butter Pecan Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2002
These were really quick and easy!!!! Didn't even pull out the mixer, mixed it all by hand.I did use a larger pan, which probably made them not as gooey, but they were very good and everyone loved them.As we have 16 pecan trees these will be a keeper for sure.

New York System Hot Wiener Sauce I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2002
This was a great recipe!!! I halved it because I wasn't sure if we would like it.We used our favorite brand of hotdogs, can't get loose hotdogs here. The celery salt sprinkled over the sandwich is a must----it adds something,it really makes a difference,I didn't think it would LOL Thanks for sharing the recipe

This was a good recipe, easy too.I think it tastes better the regular French Toast. The addition of the flour gives the bread a nice coating. You would never know it was flour in the dish.I hesiated at first when I saw it ---then read the reviews. It was very good. Thanks for sharing the recipe

Chicken Gruyere with Sauteed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2002
This was a good recipe. The sauce with the mushrooms was great. The chicken was good but alittle bland to me my husband and daughter ate it up so it could have been my taste buds.I used swiss cheese because I didn't have the other,I will try this again.Maybe alittle creme to the sauce at the end.It could be made on top of the stove too I think Thanks for sharing the recipe

Sweet and Spicy Nuts

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2001
Sorry but, this was one of the worst recipes I have made.It smells great but that is about it.The sugar doen't melt completely and then it clumps so all the nuts do not get coated and the ones that do don't get coated evenly.Doesn't taste bad,but maybe if it had a medium to bind the spice mixture to the nut it would work better.Hopefully I can save the nuts by using them in another spiced nut recipe.2 cups of nuts is not enough for 16 servings even if its just set out in a bowl for nibbling.
