White Gelatin

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
The taste was very good and it was easy to make elegant presentation. I brought this to a party and everyone complimented it. I only wished the jello would yeild more, it wasn't quite enough to fill my jelly mould, only came up to about 3/4 of it. It sagged further after putting on a plate. 4.5 stars!

Mexican Baked Fish

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
It was very good, my husband liked it very much. I didn't have chips nor avocado at the time I was making this, I pre-cooked some spanish rice instead & put it at the bottom of my baking dish before placing the egg-dipped cod on top of rice. It turned out very elegant and extremely flavorful.

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
I rate it at 4.5 stars. It was still very good after I customized the recipe to suit my personal calorie and diet preference. I omitted center-fillings of brown sugar portion. I also added 1/2 tsp of almond essence and 1/4 C of flax seed, oat bran and wheat germ. I used 1C of whole wheat flour and the rest regular. I also used only 1C of sugar, brown instead of white. I added 1/4 C of honey and doubled the blueberries.

It was terrific. I seared the tuna instead of grilling.

West Coast Cod and Shrimp

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
The flavor was good, but I thought it was bland too like one person has commented. I would definately use less heavy cream next time as I ended up with alot of sauce.

DElicious! I skipped the butter, and steamed the asparagus first before stir-frying them.

Marinated Venison

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I think this marinate is good for venison. I am not a big fan of the meat, but my husband got 2 deer last year, and we have tons of meat to use up. I use half batch on the exact recipe, while the 2nd half just cooked as stif-fry. My husband likes it.

Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I followed the recipe except omitting olives and pepperoni because I didn't have them on hand. It was EXCELLENT! I am so proud of myself because the taste and presentation looked exactly like what you will find at a high end Italian cafe. Definately let the salad sit in the refridgerator for 6hrs and longer. A good dish to make ahead.

Very Chocolate Ice Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
I misread the quantity of chocolate, instead of 2 oz, I mixed in 2 cups! I added about 1/3 of peanut butter along with the chocolate. I put the mixture into my ice cream maker bowl which I frozed for 2 days prior, then put in the refridgerator for less than an hr. Took it out and pour in heavy cream and vanilla extract. I also added 1/4 tsp of almond extract just because I love almond mix in with everything dessert. Then I let my machine do the mixing for 15 mins. It was less than 3 hrs in the freezer before my husband cannot resist any longer, took it out and start eating. It was frozen well, just like the ones you get at Ben and Jerry's. YUM! 5 STARS RECIPE!

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
I was never a big fan of key lime pie, because of the tartness, but it is my mother-in-law's fav pie. I made this for her birthday, followed faithfully on recipe. The hardest part was squeezing the juice out from the tiny key limes (about 22)even though I used a garlic presser to help. Not to mention getting the zest out first was a big pain. I couldn't fulfill the required quantity, just shy of some because my fingers were so sore from grating the tiny fruit. Everything else after that was a walk in the par. My pie didn't turned out white like the image shown, becuase of the color of my condensed milk which was yellow. I wanted to make a double batch since I bought 2 cookie pie crusts, but with the tedious retrieving lime juice part, I stuck to making only 1. I didn't get to taste it because I gave it away as a present. My mother in law who just turn 78, told me that it is the best key lime pie she has ever tasted! She gave me a piece, and Boy! it was FANTASTIC! I might make it again if I forget how hard it was to squeeze those limes!

Singapore Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
Being a Singaporean, I thought this was pretty decent. I believe the quality of curry powder is very crucial to this dish, I would encouraged you to buy curry powder from a store which sells product imports from the S.E. Asia for flavor authenticity. I also added couple of eggs (beaten) at the end when I turn off the heat and mix well. Sort of like Carbonara-style.
