why eat out?

I am realizing that between myself and my husband, we are very good cooks. not Hell's Kitchen good. but good for us. so, that begs the ?, why would we go out to restaurants where we can make the same thing, better and cheaper??????????????? i have yet to figure that out. in the meantime, we are becoming choosier about where we DO spend our $. I am not a fan of cooking, probably never will be. however, i am invested in my health and that means that cooking at home is better for me. so, i will continue to cook the dishes i love. my husband is good, most of the time, baking breads and muffins. so, i think maybe next year (2014), my goal will be to eat out at a restaurant (regardless of the meal) once a month. how's that sound??????????

I only have one reason for eating out. I don't want to cook. It's the only reason I can come up with :) And I don't have to clean up. Every time I suggest going out my husband tells me I can make it better and cheaper. Kind of hard to argue with that when taking our family out to a sit-down restaurant will run us about $100. So we do that maybe 2 times a year. We tend to stick with Pizza, Subway or the Chinese buffet to keep the cost down somewhat.

I spent $43.00 + tip tonight for our favorite Chinese grab n grub joint for 5 adults. I CAN NOT duplicate their Yummy food! I do cook 90% of our meals. Spending money on good food is fine by us. I know what I am good at Mexican, casseroles, Italian. Forget bread, Oriental! ! Lol Good thing I have options:):) Plus, when we do go to sit down resturaunt, they do the Dishes!! Everything in moderation my friend! You gotta do what you feel is right for you n your family. Take care and happy eating:):)

We have no problem spending money on a good meal where we have excellent service, good atmosphere, and superior food. It is wonderful to sit down and be served and then THEY do the dishes and clean up! We rarely do fast food, or chain restaurants - maybe half a dozen times a year - but we have our favorite "nice" restaurants, and of course our Mexican restaurant. We love to cook as well and cherish the times we can be in the kitchen together and create a masterpiece meal to enjoy. If only the dog would wash the dishes.

We use to eat out 3 or 4 times a week,However as I figured out he would eat what ever I cooked I started cooking more and experimented a lot. I was already a good cook and have been getting better each day. I noticed little by little we were spending less and less at dinner out. I once blogged that I thought my cooking was better then most of the restaurants around me. Bill read that and that pretty much ended dinner out altogether. It is amazing how little we miss it, and how much more we enjoy going out now that it isn't a regular thing.

I love to cook but some nights my husband and I find that it's just nice to go to a nice restaurant, relax, enjoy a little wine, a great mean that you've put no work into and leave the mess behind!

I don't like eating out, I worked in the pest control Industry and seen many back rooms and kitchens. Besides I prefer to stay in my house and not to interact with people. I can always make it taste better, and I do believe I could Compete with the Cooks on hells kitchen. I did graduate with a culinary arts degree, but only did it so I could cook for my wife since her health does not allow her to do many thing she once could do.

The more I learn (and like) to cook, the less I seem to want to do dishes. I enjoy cooking so much and it saves so much money, we almost never go out. But BOY are the nights when other people wait on, and clean up after you pretty great! :)
