Rolled Flank Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2014
Amazing! All three of my guests went back for seconds! I did make a gravy, as some users recommended but it wasn't needed. I had to combine three pounded butterflies steaks together to make it two pounds and I doubled the insides. Made for trickier rolling and added half an hour to the cook time, but otherwise it was great! Also I subbed cooked turkey bacon for the bacon.

Irish Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2014
My husband said this was the best shepherds pie I made so far! I used ground beef and cheddar cheese and added some corn, otherwise I followed the recipe.

Perfect and easy! Made as is except subbed coconut milk for the milk. Will never by that fake junk ever again :)

Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
This was yummy and easy! Really sweet though... I wonder if it would be possible to cut the sugar? I used half this recipe to fold into a lemon mousse. The recipe almost makes 2 cups.

Rice and Beef Stuffed Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
I doubled the rice, added cheese, and added a ton of leftover veg from my fridge (carrots, pepper, cukes) and served with a side of spagetti squash. It was delicious! PS you will need more tomatoes.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2014
This was amazing! My guests loved it. It was like having cake for breakfast! I toasted the bread (gluten free) first and halved the recipe. Will definitely make this again but will halve the sugar in the syrup next time!

Hashbrown Breakfast Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2014
I halved the recipe and skipped the pico de gallo and cheese on top. I also subbed a pack of cooked bacon and handful of halved cherry tomatoes for the ham and baked 30 mins covered and 30 mins uncovered. It was really good and my guests loved it!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2014
Delicious! My husband went back for seconds, which is always a great sign! I precooked the beef, onions mixture and added garlic (3 cloves) and a green pepper and skipped the milk and egg. I also doubled the sauce and cooked in my oven at 350 for 1.5 hours.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2014
Great flavour! I subbed julienned carrots, chopped snow peas, and reduced the oil to 1/3 cup instead. I will definitely make this again! Also, I used gluten free spagetti (cut into 4) and GF soy sauce.

Chef John's Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2014
My husband said this was the best soup I ever made (I have made a lot). I doubled the recipe and then doubled the seasoning and cut back the broth by 1 litre. I used veg broth and chicken thighs (it's all I had).

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2014
This was really good! And easy. You don't miss the ground beef at all. I added a can of beans, 2 tsp chilli powder, 3 celery, 2 cups of corn, smoked cheddar cheese, and skipped the chillis and zucchini. I cooked it the night before and threw it in the slow cooker on low while I was at work for 8 hours.

Maple Walnut Chiffon Cake

Reviewed: May 16, 2014
This cake is amazing! The icing wasn't for me though, too plain for such an elegant cake. NOTE: You need 7 eggs, but only 5 of the yolks. I also sliced the cake in half and added some walnuts and drizzles of pure maple syrup. Yum!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2014
This was so amazing and easy! I took the others advice and added two gloves of garlic, a little bit of fresh rosemary, and used fresh mushrooms. I also doubled the sauce so we had lotsa gravy for the potatoes and bread.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2014
SO amazing. I made as is, except my fresh rosemary was frozen. And I also marinated them for 5 hours (made at lunch and grilled at supper when I got home). My boyfriend loved them and went for seconds! (He is very picky).

Popcorn Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2013
Pretty good. I think it's missing corn syrup or something. It was a little too gooey (I had trouble cutting it into wedges).

Caramel Popcorn with Marshmallow

So yummy! Perfect texture (soft and chewy but not too gooey/sticky) and taste and colour. I used air popped popcorn and added a cup of chopped pecans. Yummy!

Chocolate Cupcakes with Caramel Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2013
These are super moist! The icing is really sweet but delicious. I suggest making 1.5 times the icing, if you are using a piping bag.

These are a really nice texture and the flavour is great! I used coconut almond milk and lactose free margarine (Becel Vegan). For the icing I used 1/2 C raspberries, 3 C icing sugar, and 1/2 C shortening.

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
I didn't make the cinnamon bun portion, but the bun portion was spot on! I made this recipe into twelve large pizza buns, by spreading a can of pizza sauce, sprinkling with parm & oregano & mozza, and topping with small pieces of pepperoni. I rolled this up and baked for 30 mins. They were scrumptious!
