Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
I got tons of rave reviews when I made these! You have to take your time to do it right, but I thought it was worth it. The creamy peanut butter filling is much better than store bought. I will definitely make again.

Quick Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
I loved the cookies and the recipe was really simple. But I didn't like the filling as much. I thought it was a little too thin and too "cream-cheesy" and didn't set well. I am going to try the recipe again and work on refining the filling. Made these a 2nd time with different filling and they were AWESOME! I got tons of rave reviews. I just used a simple white icing (powdered sugar, egg whites, shortening & vanilla) for the filling and it was about as close to an Oreo as you can get.

Blue Cheese and Pear Tartlets

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
These were a huge hit for my sister's baby shower! I also had a friend adjust the recipe for gluten-free and that was delicious.

Green N Gold Egg Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I thought this recipe was really easy to make. But, I was disappointed with the blandness. Even after reading other people's reviews and trying to add a little "something" myself (cheese and some spices), I still wasn't impressed. I would probably exchange spinach and use broccoli and cheddar and possibly some ham.

This was a huge hit for family brunch! Everyone was surprised when they grabbed their first piece and couldn't help coming back for more.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I loved this bread! It turned out very pretty, not to mention tasty. The only reason I gave the recipe 4 stars instead of 5 is that it was so large! I actually made only 1/3 of the recipe. I was very pleased with the results.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Everyone who tried one of these cupcakes was pleasantly surprised and raved about them! They are a little time-consuming, but I think that making your own cookie dough (instead of using store-bought) is worth the extra effort. Just be sure to plan ahead.

Sourdough Starter

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I tried my first loaf of sourdough bread about 2 weeks after making my starter. The bread is delicious (the San Francisco Sourdough recipe on this website) but it is not nearly as sour as I expected. Also, I am so glad that others posted comments about feeding your starter beforehand. I never would have known to do so otherwise.

Eggnog II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I agree with the previous reviewers who said that this eggnog is just too thick. If I make again, I will cut the whipping cream or substitute it with something else.

Perfect St. Patrick's Day Cake

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
LOVED IT! Brought this cake to a family party and had almost none left afterward. Everyone was very impressed. My only complaint was the instruction to line the pans with parchment paper. This made my cakes quite misshapen. Next time, no parchment paper - but that's the only thing I'll change!! Sure to make again.

Croissants

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
I was very impressed with this recipe. Though time-consuming, this recipe produces a pretty great croissant! Mine BURNED, so next time, I will need to cook for just a minute or two less. But otherwise, delicious and very decadent!

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
Excellent recipe! I read the other reviews and was expecting to end up with a problem-child recipe. On the contrary, I thought these were great. The person who commented that the dough is a little thick (like paper mache) is correct. Otherwise, pretty easy to prepare. And they disappeared quickly when I brought them in to work! Will definitely make them again.

Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies II

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
These certainly disappeared for me. I used white chocolate chips instead of semisweet, but I (and everyone else) still thought they were delicious. My only complaint is that they really fell apart once I tried to get them out of the pan. Next time, I am going to try refrigerating them overnight before trying to remove and/or cut.

Buffalo Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
The chicken ended up being a bit dry. I also added jalepenos and used pepper jack cheese, to make it spicy (following advice of other reviewers). I would make again, but will adjust the cooking time.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
Last year, I added this recipe to the assorted Christmas treats I give out every year. They were a huge hit!! Obviously, I kept them on the list for this year. But, I tried a new trick that made them much easier. The first year, I noticed that the cake bite portion seemed to fall apart when I tried to dip or cover it in chocolate. This year, I did a few things to combat that: 1 - I did not use the entire cake mixed with the frosting, which increased my frosting/cake ratio. 2 - I used a silicon mold to make the "bites". I formed the cake part into little squares. Then, I filled each mold about half full of chocolate, put in the cake piece, and then filled the rest with chocolate. They came out a lot more uniformly and I didn't have to worry about them falling apart. I am so excited about this recipe! It's a huge hit. This year, I will also be trying out some new decoration ideas.

Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Awesome! I made these and then used them to make sandwich cookies, putting white frosting in the middle. I also switched things up a bit and used PB chips instead of M & M's. Then I used PB frosting in the middle of those sandwich cookies

Slow Cooker Lime Chicken with Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Delicious and really easy! I didn't use thyme and used chili powder & cumin instead, to spice things up a bit. But this chicken was so moist and it turned out really well.

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This was great! I cooked it just a bit longer (10-15 min) and had a really moist roast that was well browned on the outside. It smelled wonderful while cooking and was quite easy to prepare. Will definitely make this again!
