Janine's Best Banana Bread

I followed the recipe exactly. I knew when I was making it that the butter to sugar ratio was off. It ended up very dry and I did not over mix or over bake it. The recipe needs another 1/4 cup of butter or applesauce. I will stick to the Banana Sour Cream Bread recipe from this site.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Loved this! I used thyme instead of celery seed because that's what I had on hand. I also added a diced carrot and some frozen peas. The tip of dipping the dumpling spoon into the broth to help it slide off worked perfectly.

Taco Seasoning I

I would give this six stars if I could. I will never use a store bought taco seasoning again. It's easy to adjust the heat by adding or subtracting the red pepper. I make a big batch and store it in a tightly covered jar. One pound ground beef browned mixed with 3 tablespoons of the seasoning and 2/3 cup water- simmer for 10 minutes- makes perfect tacos/nachos. I've also added it to my chili with excellent results.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

My whole family loved this spread. I sprinkled Panko breadcrumbs on top and sprayed them with Pam to help them brown. The addition of the Panko breadcrumbs gave the dish a little color and texture.

Monkey Bread I

My children (6 & 8) loved making this. The first time I used four small cans of biscuits in a tube pan and it came out perfect. The second time I used three cans of "Grands" biscuits. My whole family preferred the version made with the smaller biscuits.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Made this as muffins. Baked at 325 x40 min. Used 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 regular flour. Also decreased the fat by replacing 1/2 the butter with applesauce. Kids loved them!
