Vietnamese Aromatic Lamb Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
This is one of the best recipes I've ever used for lamb. I think next time I'll leave off the sugar, however. As-is, though, it's still delicious.

Sour Cream 'n' Chive Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
I hate mashed potatoes, but my boyfriend loves them. Not good for him, because I never make them. Until now. These are SERIOUSLY amazing. I've always thought mashed potatoes had to be bland and boring unless you add tons of salt (which I cannot do, as I have a hereditary salt sensitivity). I will be making these again and again and I won't change a thing.

Blue Cheese Chicken Wing Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
I'm a huge fan of wings, so when I saw this I was pretty much ecstatic. Instead of layering I just mixed everything together, with only 3 tbsp butter instead of 6. Went great with ranch (not a blue cheese fan) and corn chips, I would definitely make this again.

Gooey Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
As is, the recipe is rather ... unpleasant. I altered it slightly and I enjoyed my changes. Instead of the given crust, I took a sleeve of graham crackers, smashed them up, and mixed with about 3/4 cup of melted butter. I pressed it into a pan, topped with chocolate chips, then followed the filling recipe as is, except using only 1/4 cup of corn syrup and adding 1/4 cup butter. I omitted the coconut because of personal preference, and didn't add more chocolate chips since they were a layer between the crust and peanut butter. Pretty tasty after my modifications, but rich. A small square is enough for me.

Devil's Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
I normally like my steaks naked, but wow, this sauce is amazing! I made it for a date night despite having doubts and was very impressed. The only change i made was to add a little more hot pepper sauce. The look on my fiances face after his first bite let me know this is definitely a keeper.

Crunchy Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
This was pretty good and super easy. I used a generic 'poultry seasoning' + cayenne to season the chicken. I was astounded by reviews who said this was bland. Just because there are no spices listed doesn't mean you aren't allowed use them. Of course it's bland if you don't add seasonings. I thought that was common sense. :)

Sopapilla Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
I have to admit, I was really skeptical of this, right up until it came out of the oven. It's pretty good, but also pretty rich, so just take a small piece. You'll thank yourself.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
I made these not to be biscuits, but to be the topping of a chicken/veggie casserole. I don't have a pastry cutter and I definitely don't have the patience for the two knives thing, so I used a potato masher and alternated between light pressing/mixing, and cut through the end result a few times with a knife. Also be sure to add the milk gradually, as if I had added the entire cup it would have been too much. The end result was very tasty, much better than anything I could have bought in a store.

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I sampled these myself before I gave them out, and though I don't like cranberries, I was immediately hooked! Everyone who got these as a gift called to tell me how wonderful they were, definitely a keeper. :)

Ricotta Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I didn't enjoy the icing for these - it didn't taste much different from plain powdered sugar to me. The cookies were also odd. They reminded me more like overly-sweet pancakes than cookies. Not terrible, but won't make again.

Soft Breadsticks

Easy recipe, virtually no cleanup. I used an "italian spices" blend, parmesean, and garlic, they tasted pretty good. :)

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This was great. I used cottage cheese instead of ricotta (personal preference), and made this for my boyfriend and his family. Everyone loved it, even the 16 year old who hates everything. :) This is definitely a "special occasion" dish, but a keeper!

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Good taste, but the crunch that the rice had really ruined it for me and my boyfriend. Next time I won't brown the rice, and I think that will make this closer to 4 stars. EDIT: changed this to 4 stars ... I made this again without browning, and it just wasn't that good. My third try I sauteed the rice for a few minutes, and it turned out perfect. Trial and error. :)

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Easy and delicious. I used beef broth instead of water. I also added baby carrots and potatoes. My boyfriend licked his plate clean, I will definitely add this to our rotation.

Delicious soup. :) I followed the steps pretty exactly, but added carrots and a dash of garlic. The boy loved it, will definitely be making this again. Seems perfect for a cold winter day.
